The Good Co. | A Perfect Place For Honest Clean Healthy Food

What would be the first thought that comes to your mind if the word fast food is mentioned? Ultra fast to fill up that hungry tummy but most often not that healthy for the body, right? What if we tell you that fast food now need not be unhealthy? On the contrary, it can be nutritious, freshly prepared and packed daily, with a whole load of wholesome organic and vegan goodness and love. Would you be keen to know more? We are most definitely! That was exactly what we did, during the press launch of this latest cool place called The Good Co., one that serves up plenty of honest good food on-the-go. That was a great afternoon of exploration and discovery after all.

Located within a stylish sales gallery, Bön Estates - living, well crafted which stands on the pinnacle of Jalan Maarof, opposite Bangsar Shopping Centre, is a boutique developer that focuses on well crafted, sustainable and healthy living concept developments with The Good Co. as its healthy lifestyle partner, a healthy fast-food cafe, in essence.

The idea for The Good Co. and the seed of all good things were planted five years ago in fact. A brainchild of Miss Levy Li (Miss Malaysia Universe 2008), as well as the founder of the company moved back to Malaysia from the US and discovered that it was extremely hard to find fast food that is healthy and honest back home then. This sparked her interest and thought to start something which she thought would fill the market's need, and she is right after all. It is only natural as this business is ultimately the extension of her own lifestyle of embracing a full plant-based diet after her dad was diagnosed with colon cancer, and knowing the fact that most modern people these days are gearing towards a more healthy living. Hence, The Good Co.'s food is inspired by Levy's journey during the pageant and her travels abroad centred on the art of healthy and clean living. Levy explained, "As such, The Good Co. strongly believes the choices we make about 'what we eat', 'where it comes from' and 'how it's prepared' have a direct and powerful impact on the health of individuals, communities and the environment."

At the launch, The Good Co. offered guilt-free samplers including salads in a pot, oat jars, artisan sandwiches, smoothie bowls, soups, cold-pressed juices and locally roasted coffee. We did notice that the cafe serves up food items that are carefully labeled, with quirky names given to them, quite an interesting presentation we must say! Other than fresh food, The Good Co. also has its own-made 'Honest' products, ranging from granolas, peanut butter, raspberry rose jam and many more to come.

According to the owner, only natural healthy organic plant based ingredients sourced from the freshest suppliers in town are used, containing no preservatives, no additives, no artificial colouring, no refined sugar and includes superfood that is not commonly found in Malaysia.

Another interesting element to the launch was the two-prong introduction to its beauty partner, Handmade Heroes. Founded on the values of an all-natural lifestyle, this skin-friendly natural beauty brand consists of a collection of award-winning face masks, body scrubs, lip scrubs, balm and tints to dry shampoo. Made from natural ingredients which are void of preservatives, synthetic chemicals and animal products, all Handmade Heroes products are PETA-certified. All packaging is carefully sourced from FDA approved manufacturers and BPA-free. The brand prides itself in making skincare safe and affordable for everyone.

It was a great afternoon after all, discovering a new way of enjoying healthy eating and living. Thanks The Good Co. and its PR team for having us. We shall look forward to more additions to your tasty menu, which is looking promising already *_^ Check out its vibrant Instagram feed for more healthy eating options and what is serving up at the cafe here. With love,

  1. This looks like my kind of place! The fast causal concept has been really popular the world over recently and it's good to see such a push towards healthy eating. We made the switch to a cleaner and mostly organic diet last year and it has made such a difference in our wellbeing and energy levels. We really are what we eat ;p
