Yes, it was that adrenaline rush, the crowd and the anticipation of running our very first 10k that made it the most memorable. 20,000 participants showed up at the fourth edition of The Music Run™ by AIA Vitality at KL Sports City recently and we were one of them. From seasoned to first time runners, the atmosphere was pulsating and most participants run, danced (or walked) their way to the finishing line. We are no seasoned runner, in fact, we took up walking some time end of last year and did some occasional running to spruce things up the most. We did want to try a 10k run though since we have done our first 5km run earlier this year. This year, the track was also taken up a notch with the addition of a new timed 10k track for Music Runners who want to take their fitness game to new heights.
The event was flagged off at 3.30pm, ended on a high note with a Music Festival, complete with entertainment and fun activities at the Music Village. We head the run playlist on JOOX prior to the event day and felt the tunes weren't quite our kind of groove, hence we compiled our own running playlist for the day. Nonetheless, the music which was bursting from the speakers along the track was relatively loud that our own was pale by comparison to keep us entertained, but enough to motivate us to finish our race, with a mixture of running (actually a load more of walking *_^) and dragging our feet along the track. Super exhaustive but we eventually managed to clock in 1:30 minutes, a time we are pretty happy with.
The festivities at the Music Village was pretty intriguing, especially the variety of food & beverages made available by the food vendors for the day. We were pleasantly surprised by the healthy and organic choices of some food brands! (though the long queue almost killed us since we were so famished and tired by the evening came).
All in all, it was a well put together event and it looked like everyone was enjoying the time and truly #LiveTheBeat for that moment. Huge thanks to Madhat PR for the tickets.
