Our love for flowers is undeniably real, though it may seem understated for we always feel that flowers represent a certain state of mind of a woman and her femininity and vulnerability yet with that certain underlying innate strength that cannot be ignored nonetheless. That is how we view the power of flowers and their meaning. We believe this Korean beauty brand, Mamonde has successfully captured and harnessed the true essence and purpose of flowers and bring with it a range of beauty items which does not only smell and look fantastic but work wonderful for the skin too! Mamonde Malaysia recently surprised us with a beautiful blooming bouquet of delightful 3 shades of the brand's new foundation - The All Stay Foundation and its All Stay Sponge. Let's have a look at them and discover what they can do for our makeup routine, all right? And oh, a huge thanks to team Mamonde Malaysia for sending along the love, we are spoilt to brim, indeed *_^
All Stay Foundation SPF25/PA++ (MYR59, 20ml)
It is said the the new All Stay Foundation provides light, semi-matte coverage that is perfect for natural makeup look and stays in place without creasing, clumping, or becoming patchy or fading unevenly (with its special technology which we shall go into in a bit), giving beautiful skin makeup that stays fresh over time. Now, doesn't this sound like those porcelain dewy radiant glowing skin of those Korean actress in our beloved k-dramas? Of course, this is definitely achievable if you have perfect complexion to begin with.
First off, we absolute love the slim fit packaging already! Easy two-toned slim tube design that co-relates to its shade (thoughtfully done), direct and straightforward without losing its charm of being chic and contemporary (we have to give it to the Koreans for attractive packaging). Lightweight and easy to travel with, it fits a modern busy gal-on-the-go needs. The little nozzle dispenses the product with ease and the whole rose gold cap is so insta-worthy, don't you think so, lovelies? Definitely a winner in this area!
The Technology
Mamonde Instant Fitting Film Formula provides close coverage of pores and wrinkles for a flawless makeup as it is made up of a combination of a highly volatile oil and adhesive film forming agent, plus Freeze and Fix Powder, therefore, the foundation adheres and coats the skin. Well, good and bad news, the way we see it. It works beautifully if you have a nice smooth complexion to begin with, but if not, it might show up for some who are less blessed with such complexion. The saving grace is that we did discover applying the foundation with the All Stay Sponge does help to fill in most of the open pores on the surface of our skin, so it pretty much did the job the foundation is supposed to do, in that sense. If you wet the sponge a little, one might even get a more sheer out natural glow look.
It is said that the Freeze and Fix Powder absorbs the components of the sebum, it then solidified and fixed into the makeup layer to keep an appropriate water-oil balance for long-lasting makeup.
The foundation comes in 6 shade options. For brighter skin makeup, 21C Rose Ivory and 23C Sand, both are rose pink base colours (as blue pigment is added to allow the makeup to look more transparent and brighter). The formula contains moisturiser rose extract to allow deep hydration, hence one would notice the scent of the flower during application. It is meant to give you that dewy skin on the inside and a soft matte finish on the outside. We would not conclude this as a very dewy glow finishing look that we could achieve, but it can be sheered out enough to look relatively natural for our combination skin. The 3 shades we had were 21N, 23N and 25. The shade that suits us is 23N, the other two shades our friends have been loving them on a daily basis *_^ Here to see how to apply the foundation with the sponge.
All in all, this Mamonde's All Stay Foundation is worth checking out as the staying power is good and one can achieve varied finishing with the versatility of either applying it with a brush, sponge or even just with fingers.
