[Review] Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SP50 PA+++ | A Natural Comforting Look

If you had read about it previously here, you would have known how lovely and healthy that morning was for us, to have spent some time with the brand, Bobbi Brown, getting to know their spring offerings. Today, we would love to share with you one of the beauty products which is a main stay from the gorgeous brand - the Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF50 PA+++, a very first cushion from Bobbi. Yes, the cushion craze is still going strong in the beauty industry, and we feel it is one to stay.

We feel Bobbi has put in quite some thoughts into designing this very first cushion for her brand. Immediately, one would notice it looks quite different from the usual pre-soaked compact from the Korean counterparts. The liquid foundation does not saturate the cushion till first use. According to Bobbi Brown, this cushion is indeed special due to its capsule technology and airtight packaging (this helps minimise drying and preserves the longevity and freshness of the formula).

That's how important a good morning is, and that was exactly what went down that very lovely morning at Alexis Bistro & Wine Bar at Bangsar Shopping Centre recently, hosted by the brand, to unveil their latest Spring 2016 offerings. Thanks for having us, Bobbi Brown Malaysia.

It was intimate, it was relaxing. We were first and foremost enthralled by the set-up and decoration for the morning, a long table filled with Bobbi Brown goodies that looked so good that one almost thought that you can feast on them. Greens and fresh little potted plants dotted and accentuated the setting. The ever-so-friendly Education Manager for Bobbi Brown (Asia Pacific), Felix Nguyen opened the morning session by telling us how he could not go without applying a Bobbi Brown mask during his travelling trips, even on the plane itself (you should see his fine complexion, it does show *_^) and went on to share with us some of Bobbi Brown's latest Spring collections and its concept, mainly a holistic approach to skincare and makeup, to achieve a luminous beauty, coupled with flawless makeup and a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Bobbi Brown For KLFW 2015 Makeup: Paint The Runway Blue (Part 2)

After the orange accent makeup look featured previously, Bobbi Brown continued to paint the runway beautiful and colourful, this time around, this makeup brand which has been the official makeup for Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week for the past three years transformed the models and made their eyes pop with the colour BLUE at this year's KLFW 2015 previously. We had a chance to check out how the looks were done by the Bobbi Brown team and also had a quick chat with Felix Nguyen, the Education Manager for Bobbi Brown (Asia Pacific). 

Is there one major thematic makeup concept for this year's KLFW? Or is it as per the fashion designer's request?

This year, it is all about having one key focus, whether it be lip, eyes or brows. But the skin is always important and it is all about making the skin look as flawless as possible. With designers, it is a two-way process, so we work quite closely with them.

Bobbi Brown For KLFW 2015 Makeup: The Orange Accent (Part 1)

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready-To-Wear 2015 (KLFW2015) this year was super fun because we  not only got invited to some of the shows by local designer friends, but we also got an exclusive backstage pass to take a sneak peek at how the makeup sponsor, Bobbi Brown did the makeup for all the models who walked the catwalks for the designers, all thanks to the kind arrangement of our friends at Bobbi Brown Malaysia. It was a Saturday morning but we chose to show you the afternoon session makeup first, to kick start this little series as we loved the makeup looks designed for the shows. 

Third year being the makeup main sponsor for KLFW, Bobbi Brown is a makeup brand that is no stranger to anyone who loves makeup and embraces the powerful makeup in you, to enhance your natural beauty. What we loved about this look was that little orange accent under the eye, done not with any eyeliner gel or eye makeup product per se, but rather with the creative use of a lipstick (Art Stick Hot Orange), the eyelids were done with a taupe colour and the overall look was a natural one. The face was kept nude to allow the orange tint to shine through. Very refreshing, we felt, with a sense of adventure and fun to it. Uber cool. We also had a quick chat with Felix Nguyen, the Education Manager for Bobbi Brown (Asia Pacific), who shared with us some of the tips and tricks and main products that were used to create or enhance the looks during the KLFW2015.
