Live Stream | The Burberry September 2017 Show

We have always been a fan of Burberry fashion shows for the past two years and it is a known fact that we love this British brand for obvious reasons, if you had followed LUMINNEJ long enough. We love the whole live band performance vibe, how Burberry always supports the local talents via its Burberry acoustic effort, and the Kensington runway setting. We are in fact very humbled that once again, we are chosen by Burberry to collaborate, once again, to live stream the upcoming September 2017 collection show here. 

Having said that, we did find that the last two shows (except the February 2017 one) were not to our total liking, in terms of the collection (just personal preference we would say) and another factor that contributed to the "discomfort" level was how the camera angles and changes of shots, it made it so much harder to enjoy the catwalk due to the rapid quick changes of multiple camera shots, compared to the previous seamless camera change on the long runway at Kensington where each garment were given longer period time of exposure on screen, so one get to observe the specific piece in more details. Perhaps it is just our production background doing the talking here. Anyway, we did enjoy the February 2017 show a lot and LOVE the collection. Here are some of our favourite picks.

We love how Christopher played with layering, knitwear made modern and infused it into a chic way of dressing. The trench coats were superb as always and the incorporation of lace did lend a feminine and sensual feel to the pieces. Loving the colour palette of the collection too. This previous February collection seemed to brought back our old love towards the brand, rekindled that feeling and reminded us why we fell in love with Burberry from the get go. Madly in love, to be exact.

[LIVE STREAMING] Burberry February 2017 Runway Show

Burberry has been one of our favourite fashion and beauty brands for some time now, though the past two seasons had been somewhat mind boggling for us, as we could not seem to get what was actually brewing in Christopher Bailey's mind for the collections, we still do very much look forward to this new February 2017 Collection, judging by the sneak peek visuals that Burberry had released some time last week.

Following the success collaboration between the brand and the Makers House, an exhibition on the sculptor, Henry Moore's work, which is co-indicentally the inspiration that this collection is based on, will be held at the Makers House, exploring the inner works, ideas, concepts and the evolution of his artistic work to the public.

According to Burberry, it is an exploration of sculpture and silhouette, material and process. The artist's influence is articulated through form, texture and crafted details, as well as vivid prints referencing his designs from the archive at the Henry Moore Foundation. Doesn't it sound pretty exciting already?

[Live Streaming] Burberry's September Show 2016 | Historian and Artisan, The Old and The New

Having watched Orlando the film way back in our university time, it left us with such vivid memory that it almost imprinted on us the definition of cinematic beauty, simply because we were mesmerised by its grandeur in costume design, the writings of Virginia Woolf and the reinterpretation of her work via the big screen cinematic language, spanning different period time, across the two opposing genders, a story that was told in such captivating manner that it almost left us breathless and speechless. Gripping all the way, we fondly remember. So, one could imagine our excitement when we discovered that our favourite British fashion brand, Burberry's upcoming September Collection show 2016 is partly inspired by this legendary writer's literary work, Orlando the novel and in the spirit of Nancy Lancaster's interior and garden designs, blending historical and artisanal details, and this crafted collection will also include a new equestrian-style runway bag, The Bridle Bag for men and women. Isn't it sounding awesome and exciting already?

[Live Streaming] Burberry Womenswear February 2016

Burberry is making some huge changes. The brand even came up with a short teaser video (here) entitled  "Under Construction" leading up to their upcoming Womenswear February 2016 show (hint, sequins?). Following the recent announcement of Burberry closing the gap between shows and streamlining them down from 4 shows to 2 annually is a move that CEO and Chief Creative, Christopher Bailey said, "The changes we are making will allow us to build a closer connection between the experience that we create with our runway shows and the moment when people can physically explore the collections for themselves" is quite an interesintg one. Seasonless, immediate and personal, the new format and calendar have been designed with a global audience in mind.

The show will mark the first time that Burberry presents its womenswear collection under the new 'Burberry' label on the runway. The new label unifies the previous Prorsum, London and Brit lines, in a move that has been designed to simplify the presentation of the brand's full product range. Award-winning British musician, Jake Bugg will be performing live for the show.
