[LIVE STREAMING] Burberry February 2017 Runway Show

Burberry has been one of our favourite fashion and beauty brands for some time now, though the past two seasons had been somewhat mind boggling for us, as we could not seem to get what was actually brewing in Christopher Bailey's mind for the collections, we still do very much look forward to this new February 2017 Collection, judging by the sneak peek visuals that Burberry had released some time last week.

Following the success collaboration between the brand and the Makers House, an exhibition on the sculptor, Henry Moore's work, which is co-indicentally the inspiration that this collection is based on, will be held at the Makers House, exploring the inner works, ideas, concepts and the evolution of his artistic work to the public.

According to Burberry, it is an exploration of sculpture and silhouette, material and process. The artist's influence is articulated through form, texture and crafted details, as well as vivid prints referencing his designs from the archive at the Henry Moore Foundation. Doesn't it sound pretty exciting already?

[Inspiration] Elie Saab Haute Couture AW2016/2017 Impressions Of New Work | A Love Affair Rekindled

To say that we love Elie Saab is a understatement, in fact, we love the brand and its beautiful creations of fashion so ardently, to the point that we could day dream wearing one somewhere in the distant future. It does not matter if it truly would come true, after all, aren't beautiful things worth waiting for? Our love affair picks up from where we had left off previously here.

All we could say is Elie Saab can, almost, never go wrong every time, honestly and has never failed to make us fall in love with the brand, again and again, as a woman.

M.A.C Trends SS16: All or Nothing Part 2

Having attended the M.A.C Trends Autumn/Winter 2016 presentation earlier today, it is high time for us to bid farewell to the Spring/Summer 2016 trends here today to make it official. Goodbye spring, hello summer, the trendy M.A.C way. We featured the SS16 trends in our previous first parter here, now let's dive into the remaining sub-trends from the two major ones - ALL or NOTHING.

ALL

Taking the highly crafted and creative idea of facial jewellery and adornment and translating it into makeup has gained traction since last season. A kooky lash, a naive liner, and out-there lip... These are tweaks of stylish eccentricity. Makeup is now viewed as an alternative form of accessories, as an extension of fashion more than a beautifying tool. These supremely confident statements project an attitude of beautiful contemporaneity - they are as simple as they are empathetically bold; jolts of kaleidoscopic colour in unexpected proportions worn against a simply prepared skin are singular, uncomplicated, free of pretence... and, importantly, playful and fun. "This isn't makeup that takes itself too seriously," explains Terry Barber. "It searches for an experimental, youthful and dynamic spirit that brings a beautiful and unexpected ornamentation to the face," agrees Lyne Desnoyers. "There is a real vibrancy to these looks... they're energetic." The sub-theme of the ALL theme we are sharing here today are Hot Cherry and Crayon.

Burberry Menswear Autumn/Winter 2016 | That Voice of Benjamin Clementine Anchored The Show

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" set the tone and theme for this Autumn/Winter 2016 Menswear collection runway show, which was unveiled early January this year (yes, that long ago, sorry!) at Burberry's custom-built venue at Kensington Gardens, graced by more than 700 guests which included celebrities, the movers and shakers of the fashion industry and media alike. Burberry has been one of our favourite British fashion brands and this one did not fail to entertain. What really caught our attention was the powerful live performances by Mercury Prize winner, song-writer and singer Benjamin Clementine, on the piano. For a brand that embraces technology, the Burberry show and performance were also streamed live on the newly launched Burberry app for Apple TV, marking a first for a fashion brand on the platform.

Burberry is making some huge changes. The brand even came up with a short teaser video (here) entitled  "Under Construction" leading up to their upcoming Womenswear February 2016 show (hint, sequins?). Following the recent announcement of Burberry closing the gap between shows and streamlining them down from 4 shows to 2 annually is a move that CEO and Chief Creative, Christopher Bailey said, "The changes we are making will allow us to build a closer connection between the experience that we create with our runway shows and the moment when people can physically explore the collections for themselves" is quite an interesintg one. Seasonless, immediate and personal, the new format and calendar have been designed with a global audience in mind.

The show will mark the first time that Burberry presents its womenswear collection under the new 'Burberry' label on the runway. The new label unifies the previous Prorsum, London and Brit lines, in a move that has been designed to simplify the presentation of the brand's full product range. Award-winning British musician, Jake Bugg will be performing live for the show.
