[Review] Dior One Essential Mist-Lotion & Eye Serum | A Detox Ritual

Modern daily aggressions like air pollution, sun exposure, city dust and particles can take a toll on our skin, as we are exposed to them on a daily basis. Of course, coupled with emotional and stress level from living a fast-paced life, our skin's natural defence system can set us back even further. So, as often as we are used to detoxifying our body, our skin does need its special kind of detox too. Hence, we are sharing a little of our experience using the Dior's One Essential range today - The Dior One Essential Mist Lotion and the Dior One Essential Eye Serum. Shall we begin then?

Dior One Essential Mist-Lotion Detoxifying Mist Purity Booster (125ml at MYR248)
According to Dior, the skin is never 100% freed from pollutants which settle on the skin surface, even once cleansed. In addition, most of the traditional lotions only act on the surface and do not offer any in depth detoxifying treatment.

With this one, Dior offers for the first time a hybrid lotion with a triple action against pollution: Clarify, Rebalance and Detoxify. it "resets" the skin's purity, daily and is capable of targeting 100% of particles present on the skin's surface1.  (1In vitro test on ingredients). Dior has been studying cellular toxins for 20 years now, and they have discovered the power of red hibiscus in assisting cell detoxification. More about the science behind the red hibiscus here.

We love the fact that this "oil-in-water" formula feels lightweight on the skin, and its "air-whipped" texture delivers the right amount of hibiscus-infused facial water at each spritz. It instantly refreshes and hydrates our skin and keeps it moist. It has a faint scent to it, one that is soothing for us enough to enjoy a good moisture boost each time. We also used this to spray on our face while doing our makeup, especially for the base. We spray some after applying our makeup primer, and spray it after foundation, this way, it helps to keep our makeup fresh and dewy. It is a little makeup trick we picked up from a makeup artist friend previously *_^

We can't really attest to its detoxification functionality, as it is close to impossible to detect and notice just with our naked eyes, but we do noticed that at least the face and skin feel clean and supple after each application of the mist-lotion. That is one good feeling after all.

Dior One Essential Eye Serum (15ml at MYR290)
This would be our first time trying out a Dior eye serum. Coming from the same family (One Essential), this eye serum harnesses the detoxification power of the delicate chalice hides under the Red Hibiscus gown of petals. Hibiscus extract has been shown to stimulate the recycling process of toxins that have penetrated the cell's "lung"* (*In vitro tests conducted on ingredients).

This serum comes in a study red glass bottle with a pump dispenser. It is said that the serum is meant to be applied as the 1st step in one's skincare regiment, it multiplies the effectiveness of the ingredients in subsequently applied eye care. It functions almost similar to the mist-lotion, as in to detoxify the impurities and pollutants around the eye area and revitalised it to give one that bright and fresh eyes look.

We love the lightweight texture of the serum, and that little faint same scent like the mist-lotion. Easily applied and smoothed over the eyes area and keep our eyes moist. Since we have quite bad nose sensitivity and allergy, our dark circles have always been a concern, and not many eye serums we have tried seem to eliminate the issues, this Dior one is no exception. We did not expect a miracle, but we do enjoy using this eye serum a lot. We even brought it on our trips of late. It does soothes the delicate skin around our eyes and leave it with a comfortable feeling. Here for more details.

As always, huge thanks to Dior Malaysia for the love. Here for more about the One Essential 3-step skincare routine and for everything Dior, one will have to explore and experience it here. Till our next skincare adventure and sharing, have a beautiful and luminous rest of the week, lovelies!

Stay luminous and happy *_^

With love,
Jeann

  2. I really enjoy seeing products being released that have been designed with modern times (and skin dilemmas!) in mind. This duo by Dior sound beautifully luxurious, especially the mist lotion - 'clean and supple' skin sounds just about perfect. I'd imagine it'd be a lovely treat to include as a stocking filler! Have a wonderful week ahead Jeann :)

  3. These products both sound fantastic and right up my alley but The Dior One Essential Mist Lotion is especially intriguing. Recently I've been concerned about the effects of pollutants on my skin since I live in an urban environment. The whole detoxification feature is very appealing and it sounds like it's quite lovely to use based on your description. I will have to see if it is available in the US yet.
