"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" set the tone and theme for this Autumn/Winter 2016 Menswear collection runway show, which was unveiled early January this year (yes, that long ago, sorry!) at Burberry's custom-built venue at Kensington Gardens, graced by more than 700 guests which included celebrities, the movers and shakers of the fashion industry and media alike. Burberry has been one of our favourite British fashion brands and this one did not fail to entertain. What really caught our attention was the powerful live performances by Mercury Prize winner, song-writer and singer Benjamin Clementine, on the piano. For a brand that embraces technology, the Burberry show and performance were also streamed live on the newly launched Burberry app for Apple TV, marking a first for a fashion brand on the platform.

Burberry Prorsum Menswear SS16: Strait-Laced
Be bold, be masculine, be strait-laced with Burberry Prorsum Menswear this coming Spring/Summer 2016 season? Is that your thing, men out there? Now, how does one define a Burberry man? Is he the classic type that goes for the precisely cut jacket and pants? Or perhaps he is bold enough to embrace a little LACE (oh well, quite a bit actually in this collection) shirts and ties to soften that whole otherwise structured classic men's look? Perhaps a Burberry man is someone who aren't afraid to take that risk to look a little fashion forward yet has a place in his heart to truly appreciate British heritage, and most of all, from this collection, the artisanship behind such intricate craftsmanship of cotton laces weaving. We felt, once again, Christopher Bailey has succeeded in bringing such fresh work and help cement his philosophy of promoting local British and homegrown talents, which is something we have always admired about him as a designer. Just look at how he introduces new British singers songwriters, season after season *_^

Sporty Edginess of Sandra Azwan's Debut Resort 2015/16 Menswear Collection
It was good timing that we received an invitation from our dear designer friend, Sandra Azwan quite some time back as that was the day we got back from an outstation trip, we remembered. With an equally excited heart, we headed to Segaris Art Centre at Publika that afternoon to attend the media preview of this local young designer's very first Resort 2015/16 Menswear collection (here) .
Studied fashion way back before 2007 and was one of the finalists in Mifa8 Fashion Forward competition locally, Sandra Azwan started off designing womenswears, (and still is) with his signature style and futuristic designs, he stood out from the rest. Never boring, always fashion-forward, we fell in love with his work many years back and super enjoyed his collection last year during the KL Fashion Week (blogged here). This time around, checking out his menswear could only mean one thing for us - exciting *_^
