It was good timing that we received an invitation from our dear designer friend, Sandra Azwan quite some time back as that was the day we got back from an outstation trip, we remembered. With an equally excited heart, we headed to Segaris Art Centre at Publika that afternoon to attend the media preview of this local young designer's very first Resort 2015/16 Menswear collection (here) .
Studied fashion way back before 2007 and was one of the finalists in Mifa8 Fashion Forward competition locally, Sandra Azwan started off designing womenswears, (and still is) with his signature style and futuristic designs, he stood out from the rest. Never boring, always fashion-forward, we fell in love with his work many years back and super enjoyed his collection last year during the KL Fashion Week (blogged here). This time around, checking out his menswear could only mean one thing for us - exciting *_^

The artistic arts centre that afternoon provided the perfect cosy vibe for what was about to unfold. Since moi is a good friend with Sandra, we sneaked backstage before the show began to have a peek at the collection (and check out the male models, haha *_^). Some of them were a little camera shy, some tried to look macho but most of them looked dashing in Sandra's menswear, coupled with Adidas' shoes that were sponsored for the media preview.
The collection (more detailed here) is inspired by athlete and urban street wear, yet maintaining his signature look of an interplay with geometrical designs and clean lines punctuated with bold colours, very sporty and hip indeed, we feel.
Since the visuals we took did not really turn out good enough and we feel it would not do justice to his collection, we have instead included here his campaign shoot visuals which we believe were shot in Paris, for you to have a look. You can also check out the rest of the collection here via Sandra's website. Since Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration is just around the corner, he has also started pre-ordering for his collection, so check them out if you are keen to look good and sharp for the joyous occasion. We shall leave you with the rest of the visuals and we look forward to seeing his up-and-coming collection for this year's KL Fashion Week happening next month!
Congrats Sandra for yet another collection well done and thanks for the invite. Sorry for the uber late post! For more updates of what he's been up to, you can head over to his blog here. Campaign visuals via Sandra's official website here.
Have a luminously beautiful and happy week, lovelies.
With love,
Jeann
