[Review] Lunasol 2015 Summer Makeup Sheer Breeze Collection

Untitled Untitled

Loving the fact that summer is fast approaching for the rest of the world, but we are uber late on this blog post as our specially arranged makeover session for us by Lunasol Malaysia team was done way back gosh know when! But like they say, better late than never, right? Nonetheless, we did review  the base makeup range from Lunasol's Summer collection here though. So, let's move onto their colour makeup for this coming summer, all right? It's called Sheer Breeze Collection and we were super lucky to have our makeup done by the Japanese makeup artist, Satoru Inokubo previously.

We have always been fascinated by this Japanese brand's philosophy of creating and enhancing women's beauty through the creative use of light and shadow, with a great deal of refinement. With this Sheer Breeze Collection for summer, it is no exception. It is about draping the skin with purifying point makeup that is translucent and sheer luster, in a mature atmosphere, with vivid lip colours to summery breezy sparkling hues, refreshing with a cooler tone, almost as if purifying the soul, according to Lunasol.

Satoru Inokubo San worked really fast by prepping our skin with some lunasol skincare, then followed by base makeup and moved onto using the summery point makeup colours that we shall be reviewing here. Working with swift and experience hands and explaining his applications all the way in fluent Mandarin! (yes, we were as surprised as you *_^) He actually picked up the language during his travel makeup work trips to Taiwan over the years and he is an avid photographer too *_^ It was so great seeing the professional worked, really!

Lunasol Stain Colour Lips (MYR118)
Comes in 3 limited-edition vivid bright colours (EX01 Cool Fuchsia, EX02 Fresh Coral and EX03 Energy Red, detailed colour reference here), they are perfect to perk up that summer look. Glides on the lips smoothly and leaves the pout looking fresh with just enough stain for that little added drama and glow. We feel that whenever we apply this colour, it brightens up our face. The shade that we have here is EX02 Fresh Coral.

Lunasol Sheer Breeze Eyes (MYR196)
Comes in 2 types (EX01 Refreshing Breeze and EX02 Passion Breeze, detailed colour reference here), this limited-edition four-colour eyeshadow set is one of the prettiest looking items. The shade we have here is EX02 Passion Breeze. We love the way it is designed, embossed with the brand name in each colour panel. This is also the set that was used by Satoru Inokubo San to create our summer look for the day. The set is versatile and can be mixed and matched to create varying looks as desired. It also comes with two sponge tip applicators, with one end of it a tiny brush.

Lunasol Sheer Shine Crayon Lips (MYR93)
Don't know why, we immediately gravitated towards this item from the collection, maybe perhaps this is our very first crayon lipstick. Comes in 2 limited-edition colours (EX01 Sheer Pink and EX02 Sheer Orange, detailed colour reference here), this retractable crayon lip (Sheer Orange was our colour) comes in a sleek pencil and cap and it finishes to a sheer with a little shine and sparkle look on the lips. Super subtle, cool and modern kind of look, we personally feel. A wash of colour on the lips may just do the trick for casual outings. Ultra handy, we have been keeping this one in our sling bag ever since.

Lunasol Lighting Eyes (MYR99)
3 new single colours plus 2 limited-edition summer colours for eyes (EX01 Lighting Green and EX02 Lighting Orange, detailed colour reference here), they are really gorgeous, especially the limited-edition ones. We have the Lighting Green. Three colours combo in a small dainty casing, we brave ourselves to try out the green but super love the middle yellow glittering colour. Lots of different usage for this. We use the light colours to highlight our brow bones as well. Nice fine textures, lovely when applied. A keeper.

Lunasol Colouring Cheeks N (MYR95)
Only 1 type, this one (06 Coral Pink) we have here with all three colours embossed with the brand name is actually a limited-edition design for first production only. The staple one looks like this here. It comes in natural hues of coral and soft beige and nude, really fit that summery glow in the sun kind of cheek - subtle with a wash of colour, letting the natural healthy cheek shines through. Do note that the casing and brush is sold separately. The Lunasol Compact Case (Face) N is retailed at MYR64 and the small brush that fits into the casing is priced at MYR37.

Lunasol Nail Finish N (MYR59)
Two new colours (09 Neutral Pink and 10 Neutral Beige, detailed colour reference here) and one limited-edition colour, which is the one we received, EX37 Lime Green, shown above. Quite out of this world, right? At least to us, that is, as we have never used such a shade before (always the usual red family). It is not a really bright yellow, but somewhat muted, a little like mustard. We have no qualms about this. Staying power really depends as we do quite some washing and chores. So, it stayed fresh and on our nails for about 3 days or so. The consistency is not too bad though. Satoru san presented us a picture he took of New York City during his trip at the end of the makeover session and even left us a note on the card. Very sweet of him *_^

Lunasol Smooth Clear Pressed Powder (MYR114), SPF15, PA++
One last new item that we have from the session from the base makeup collection is the new Lunasol Smooth Clear Pressed Powder (EX01 Lucent Clear). In line with the rest of the products in the Summer Breeze Collection, the brand name is embossed on the powder and it is a lovely hint of colour. Combine all colours and brush onto face, it gives a translucent finish, naturally covering some pores and make them less visible since it contains reflecting powder (magnesium carbonate). Luckily this does not cake up our combination skin face. We feel one can stay matte and fresh in the summer with this one. Note that casing for the pressed powder is sold separately as well (retailed at MYR64) and a small brush at MYR39.

We feel it is a divine collection for summer, befits having a fresh makeup look for outdoor activities, with some cool tones and a pop of vivid lip colours to brighten up the face. We only wish that Japanese brands like Lunasol can do away with selling the casings separately but instead include them with the makeup items. This way, it would be more wallet friendly *_^ The collection is finally launched here in Malaysia from 12th June onwards and is now in store in Malaysia. All prices stated here inclusive of GST.

Thanks again to Lunasol Malaysia team for the kind arrangement for us to enjoy a makeover session previously and super huge thanks for the love! More about the Lunasol brand and updates here and the Summer Breeze collection here. So, do you have a favourite from this collection? Anything that piqued your interest and caught your eyes?

Till next time, have a beautiful and happy week, lovelies *_^
