[Inspiration | Musing] Distancing

Life took a detour and arrived at a place with no name, no identity, no words could have ever described how deserted this stop looks like, an island without visitors. 2020 was, and still is remarkably unbelievable and truly unexpected. The wind looks kind of stagnant, the sky looks awkwardly gloomy at times, most of all, the human hearts turn terribly fragile and inward (can be a good thing when one goes into self reflective mode).

Social distancing leaves us further apart in physique but draws us closer in the heart, thought and mind. We attempt to embrace the change, the new normal as much as we could. Could possibly pass off as "not too bad", given the circumstances. Life is unpredictable anyway, but was never such a huge surprise that comes with adverse impact to almost everyone, and the world at large.

A great deal have changed, we fumble, we pick ourselves up, we forge on and continue to look ahead and forward. We hope that everyone else are doing well, evolving and growing. We will say a huge thanks to what we have at this moment, feeling the gratitude and the lesson learnt. Time is irrelevant and has become a luxury.

Never let what needs to be said unspoken. Now means so much more than the next moment.

Human are very distinctive and highly adaptable to change. We will be all right after all. When all this has to come to end, or at least, way better, we have healed ourselves with so much hope and love that our strength and tenacity will shine through. We can do this!

[Inspiration | Musing] Call My Name

Call me
The summer heat that sizzles and melts you down, dripping with the sapphire intoxication of gemstone littered in the sand of time

Call me
The lonely darkness that is hidden deep within, waiting for someone to unleash its fearless calling, one who is brave enough to see beyond everything else

Call me
The serenity that fits right into your hand when you are reaching out for a touch of  gentleness, hoping for that little peace of mind

Call me by my name
If you know me well enough, if you know that all I truly wanted is just a little love, a little kisses, a little gentle touch, a little more understanding, a little more tender loving care

2019 has left us gingerly, without making a huge fuss, yet we could not help but missing her so much, yet we are excited about what the rest of 2019 will bring. New challenges in life, new things to discover and learn, after all.

We hope you have lived your first half, luminously and of course, remain your happiest selves, always, lovelies *_^

[Inspiration | Musing] Drifting Space

Space drew a deep sigh and withdrew away, in hiding, in the shadow and not wanting to show her face vividly, to her secret admirer. No matter how much I beg, space retreats and unwilling to compromise. Perhaps she is utterly disappointed that she is not what she seems to be after all.

"Do I need to tell you how I really feel out loud?" space mumbles underneath her little breath. "I am but a girl just wishing upon a star, hoping to get to hear a little echoing respond." She sounds hopelessly disappointed. I could not seem to figure her out. Perhaps it is not my place to do so.

I try to tell space a joke, but she seems unmoved by my little attempt of kindness. I miss her hearthy crazy laugh, I miss seeing her smile and her naiveté, I miss her random rants of her wild but harmless thoughts swirling in her restless mind.

Space, I shall leave you to your own corner, perhaps you do need your own space after all. Tell me when you are ready to step back into the sunlight again. I shall be here, waiting patiently for you. I know you are a strong little one, you will survive it all, no matter for you choose both sweet and bitter of life to savour.

Be a good girl and come back out, all right, space?

[Inspiration | Musing] April Kind Of Change

That moment when you realise what you miss most is just the feeling of that unspoken sense of belonging, even if it means to know that you mean something to someone, that you are truly who you are, uniquely your own self.

March saw a drastic change in life, moving onto new and different challenges in our professional work life, a mixture of excitement and adventures, rolled into one, felt and tasted like Vietnamese spring roll. Lethargically stimulated, we took it on with an open mind and heart.

Looking at you, it seems inevitable, yes, change, we are looking at you. You fooled us well, yet we can only invite you in for a cuppa and work our way around to what seems certain at this moment, at least it is for the better of everyone. We miss certain things in life, capturing beauty, advocating the appreciation of beauty in life, time somehow is working a little against us, the tide is retreating so quickly that it takes us by surprise ... please stay a little longer, will you, please?

Perhaps it lies in our stars, wanting to live a vivacious life with memorable moments that take our breath away, always! Here's to a unprecedented April, it should be a revelation, one we hope we can face with great courage. Stay happy always, lovelies *_^

[Inspiration | Musing] Beautiful Life, Beautiful Day and Beautiful Love

January left without a name, February took over with such subtle vengeance that it felt like we have been swept off our feet by a stranger with strong hands and arms, lifting us away from the daily grind and worries of the world upon our shoulder, looming like a dark soul on that path of no return. We came out feeling alive, eventually came to discover that life is beautiful, in many ways, despite its broken tiles and worn off paints.

Connecting with our own being, in such a naked manner, emotionally, ever so often, or with another, who understands our chaotic mind do seem to yield a certain sense of calmness within. Exploring deep within, what it takes to be a woman, in flesh and blood, we felt we have come to know a different side of us we have not understood before this. It is equally liberating and fearful at the same time. Ultimately, we have come to learn that whichever path we decide to take, it should be one which comes from a purposefully good intention.

We have come to appreciate our physical body more this year by embarking on a whole new fitness approach, getting our body back on track again, after what seemed like eternally a sedentary sort of lifestyle that we were leading, in denial. It feels great after all. We take each day one step at a time, trying to survive the moments, without leaving us scratched with thorn-filled scars of the mundane meaningless dispute or misunderstandings. Focus on us, only then we could be whole again to love others and life itself.

How has this new month of February been treating you, lovelies? Have a beautiful new week ahead and be happy always *_^ Here is a beautiful song we so adore, and would love to share it with you all.

[Inspiration | Musing] Seeing Beauty, Sharing Beautifully

When the first word and visual were inked and imprinted here on LUMINNEJ, it was a space we have intended it to be creative, luminous and always beautiful, in our eyes, though we understand very well that the notion of beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and can never be a mould that fits all. Sharing was our ultimate intention, in hope, that everyone, especially women, in specific, would be able to see beauty and find beauty in all things in our life, be it big or small.

Beauty to us, may not only be makeup and cosmetic products (though most of us would be pretty excited when we discovered that favourite lipstick we could not leave home without, or that lovely shade of sunnies we can't do without), it extends further than that. We truly wanted to explore the inner works of being a woman, ourselves. Yes, you can say it is a selfish intention on our part, but the more that age catches up on us, we realise this part of the urge, the burning desire to find out what really makes us tick, what makes us happy, or sad, truly, ultimately, as a woman, becomes alarmingly important.

We have openly admitted before here, we adopt quite a nonchalant approach to makeup, same goes to fashion and our own physical outlooks or aesthetics, though we never denied that what makes us look good on the outside, does in some ways, uplifts our spirits and feels good on the inside, at times. We love beautiful photography and wish to share that, within our beauty reviews, not necessarily with the intention to ask you to "buy" more (sounds hypocritical, huh) but merely our passion for capturing something, the best luminous way we know how (with our limited knowledge and photography skill). We are sharing our very own experiences, and can be subjective, and always in hope that you would still make your own decisions at the end, based on your own needs and financial capability.

Perhaps we are rambling on in this post. It is merely something we read recently that got us thinking, or maybe today is Mother's Day? We believe all women deserve to be beautiful, in our own ways. If whatever that makes you happy (not on the expense of others' misery or sufferings), we say, go for it, lovelies. If you feel makeup makes you happy, put it on, if you feel that piece of garment fits you perfectly, wear it. As for us, not all things that make us happy need to belong to us. We are merely a passing soul on this earth. At the end of the day, we realised, no matter how much makeup or clothes we have in our closet, we rarely consume them all, we only almost reach out to a handful that truly touches our heart *_^

If you are those who are truly critical and want a thorough beauty review, there are so many amazing beauty blogs out there, which will give you a more in depth insights into it, and help you make wiser decision on your next purchase.

We are here, in our small little way, to perhaps hold your hand, once in a while, if you ever need one (virtually of course) or give you a shoulder to rest on, if you need someone to listen to, or if you enjoy something a tad different to read about, to find your soul again, to reconnects with your tired heart, or open it more, to the beauty in life. We hope, we have done so, for you, and in return, for us, to keep moving on, and keep growing and learning, as a woman.

Thanks for listening and for always supporting. We love you all. Women are strong because of love, we endure the hardest in life, simply not because we are capable, stronger than our opposite sex, it is merely because out of our love for others, we always put others before us, some times, forget that, we ourselves need some of that love too. Visuals do not exactly co-relate with blog post. All visuals via LUMI's pinterest board here.

Last but not least, Happy Mother's Day! and wish that each and every 365 days is a special mother's day (and a woman's day) for we all deserve all the love, all year round, don't you agree?

With love,
Jeann
