Innisfree Beauty Picnic - The Jeju Sparkling Mineral Experience

Green lush lawn, beautiful clean fresh air, serene and peaceful space to kick back and have a little picnic and good times while discovering what the latest range of Korean skincare has to offer to rejuvenate and hydrate? All these seemed too magical when we received the invitation from Innisfree Malaysia, as it came during the time when Malaysia was experiencing a horrendous hazy weather situation. We were worried, to say the least as having a really sensitive nose and allergy did not help to calm our nervous. Upon arriving on location, the prior worries immediately melted away, as we knew, the well thought-out set-up by the Innisfree Malaysia PR team was absolutely perfect for an indoor picnic scenario (yes, you heard us right *_^), as good as it could get, we felt - this was our very first indoor Innisfree Beauty Picnic! 

Nestled within the city, Organica Lifestyle (here for more), this health-focus eatery turned picnic location for the day is the perfect choice for this Saturday afternoon rendezvous. We were invited to a quick de-stress session with the owner upstairs, to relax and calm our body and mind, a great way to start off the session. What followed was a quick introduction to the brand by the Innisfree Malaysia Brand Manager, Johnny Nam and explanation about their latest range - Jeju Sparkling Mineral skincare line, a collection that mainly uses carbonic hot spring water (sparkling mineral water) from Jeju Sanbangsan Mountain, only available exclusively to Innisfree. This active ingredient provides deep hydration while the frizzy sparkling effect allows you to experience that hot-spring spa-like feel and its benefits right at home. Sounds awesome, right? Wait till you see what we were doing right after this! 

We were told beforehand to go with our bare face, no makeup as we will be experiencing a relaxingly refreshing skincare routine and makeover. That was indeed the case. An exciting session ensued. We were asked to first pick up two sachets - white and blue (1) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Powder (30ml at MYR8). This is the first step of the skincare routine, the cleanser. Once you pour the powder into room temperature water, (2 & 3) it turned into sizzling water, almost like a frizzy drink. We were asked to soak our entire face into it, to drench up all the sparkling goodness that is from Jeju mountain. It did feel very carbonated and had quite a fair amount of tingling sensation. After a few dips, you would notice it left your face super squeaky clean though. According to Innisfree team, the Koreans do this at home almost every night! So, perhaps this is their secret to glowing smooth skin?

What came after that cleansing would be the (4) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin (200ml at MYR79.90), a skin boosting toner that is ethanol-free and loaded with 88% sparkling mineral water. The next product was pretty interesting, we felt - (5) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence (70g at MYR110). This mouse-type textured essence not only contains 73.6% sparkling mineral water, but it also has a 5-in-1 benefits - intensive moisture retention, even out skintone, improve skin texture, improve skin firmness and strengthen skin barrier and promote blood circulation. Sounds like a power house, if you asked us. The rest to follow would be (6) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Lotion (160ml at MYR79) for combination skin as it is a lighter moisturizer compared to the (7) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Cream (50ml at MYR110), which is suitable to be used as a night moisturizer. Last but not least, to retain all the sparkling goodness, one can always spray on the (8) Jeju Sparkling Mineral Mist (80ml at MYR52) for that extra hydration, anytime of the day or night.

After a great skincare routine, we were all excited to put on some Jeju goodness makeup from Innisfree to end the day. Before the picnic ended, we were also shown how to make our very own healthy sparkling water by the team of Organica Lifestyle, infused with great fresh ingredients like sliced lemons, mint leaves, pureed raspberries. Such a refreshing drink to have and surprisingly, an easy concoction to put together as well. We even got our own jar of mixed nuts and leafy greens in a glass bottle to bring back for a healthy snack. The refreshments served were super delicious, to say the least. Pssst, their sandwiches were awesome too *_^

It was most definitely one of the most enjoyable picnic outings that we have had in our life, and the most relaxingly charming and beautiful one we must say. Everything that afternoon spelt divinely perfect for a great afternoon. Kudos to Innisfree Malaysia PR team for the job well done, and awesome thanks to Innisfree Malaysia for having us!
