M.A.C AW2015 Trends: Love Worn & Red 70s

After sharing with you the two trends of M.A.C Autumn/Winter 2015 previously here, it is time to wrap up the year with the remaining two makeup trends for this season - namely the Love Worn and Red 70s by makeup giant, M.A.C Cosmetics. "Everything is a signature this season!" declares Val Garland of this varied crew. Time to widen your makeup horizon, diversity is for all.

The Red 70s
This season the rouged lip moves closer to Woodstock than Hollywood. As brick-y retro reds take over from classic Russian hues, rust, bordeaux, wine, burgundy, ochre, caramel, tobacco, cognac, aubergine, whether velvet or vinyl in texture, these dark warm lips exude a sophistication that references everything from porcelain pre-Raphaelite to the chic side of the 70s, and are "cool-er and less 'lady' than traditional red," says Van Garland.

M.A.C AW2015 Trends: Strength of Beauty and Beautiful & Damned

If you had seen this, you would have known that there were 4 major makeup trends that were shared by the professional at M.A.C Cosmetics recently for this Autumn/Winter 2015. In the constant and evolving conversation of what defines beauty today, true makeup artistry broadens the propositions and opens our eyes to inspired options of how to celebrate beauty with makeup - Beauty is Diversity. At least, that is what according to the beautiful people at M.A.C and we could not agree more with them! 

So what is the common thread? For M.A.C, it feels fresh to declare: there isn't one! For refreshingly, there is no unanimous aesthetic view to A/W2015. The means are as diverse as the ends. This season as makeup artists pull energy and inclinations from a varied mash up of eras, attitudes and artistic techniques, playing with paradoxes - particularly that of hard vs soft (in respect of attitude, colour, texture and techniques) - results this season in makeups that are as strong, dynamic, creative - and polarizing. We shall first share with you here, two of the four trends - Strength of Beauty and Beautiful and Damned.

The Beautiful Bernard Chandran's Petang Raya 2015 Collection

First started his Petang Raya Collection way back in 2006, the visionary and internationally renowned Malaysian fashion design, Dato Bernard Chandran (here for the brand) has done it again, with this year's Hari Raya 2015 collection, one that never fails to push the boundaries of how "traditional" is interpreted and how it can be modern, without sacrificing the integrity of being modest and traditionally acceptable, for an occasion as joyous and special as Hari Raya Aidilfitri (for those who are not yet familiar, it is an occasion when all Muslims celebrate after a one long month of fasting and adhering to the spirit of tolerance, forgiveness and endurance, almost similar to how we Chinese celebrates the Lunar New Year every year). Though we could not personally make it to the showcase recently, we would still very much love to share this collection with you since the festive season is fast approaching, and the fact that we super love this collection *_^

We have always loved and admired his views on fashion, his bold takes on making the women the strong characters, by way of her fashion sense, fashion choices and fashion style. This time around, we spotted quite some lace-on-lace, a play with embellishments with crystal done different, as stripe patterns. According to Dato Bernard Chandran, lace is definitely in. He also introduced lace patching in a whole new fun way. The 'baju kurung' (the traditional Malay costume)  cut is updated to look more like blouses and standalone dresses with some designs spotting a sports jacket trend.
