[Instagram] Life Has Its Tempo

We do believe that life has its own rhythm and everything unfolds in a way that it should be - at the right time, at the right place, which we have come to gradually learn to see life this way... oh well, at least, starting from this year onwards *_^ 

Of late, things have been getting onto a much faster pace, as our work kicks up a notch. Work here of course we mean our production work, shooting on ground. Juggling this work with blogging can be a challenge, but we are more than happy to take up this challenge.

On the beauty department, we are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to try out new up-and-coming collections for Spring and Summer 2015 already and we feel grateful for having brands that support LUMINNEJ and love what we are doing here. Traveling within the states have also been a bit more frequent this past two months, though tiring, but always rewarding to see new things and accomplish different tasks. Of course, doing all these while taking time off to enjoy a cuppa as much chance as we can get *_^

We would love to take this opportunity to say a big thanks to all our blogger friends who have been dropping by to say hi and read our blog posts and leave comments. [Instagram] Lumi's Feature 5: Asyuka from Japan

Instagram is a space that constantly gives us a tremendous dose of inspiration, from enjoying the beauty that one captures to sharing the little bits of lifestyle and culture of a certain country in the most stunning manner, for some. One of our all-time-favourite IG profiles is none other than this Japanese accessories designer, Yuka Kaede (instagram profile _asyuka_). From her feed, you can tell that she loves flowers, dainty accessories, beautiful skyline and travels.

We call her, the "queen of pastel". She is super amazing at showcasing Japanese skyline, in the most beautiful hues of pastel skies one can imagine. The city seems to come alive through her lens (and her edits) and beg for your attention, in a most subtle and subconscious manner. We are definitely in love with her sense of style.

Everything seems much simpler, with her, presented in a sensually feminine way, very quintessentially Japanese kind of aesthetics. We shall let you enjoy her wonderful captures. It sure brightens up our days, just by looking at these pictures which are full of serenity and blissfulness.

[Instagram] Lumi's Feature 4: Gustav Brostrom

One of our favorite Instagram feeds comes from this fashion blogger from Stockholm, Sweden. We find his styling of objects and things he fancies really interesting - kind of what we presume, most people would call it, organized chaos? But we would rather call it a sense of chaotic beauty *_^ We do mean it in a really good way though (honestly!)

Gustav Brostrom is a Swedish fashion assistant for Elle Magazine and we find his art of arrangement rather meticulous (like most Instagrammers), yet, there is a certain degree of beauty in them. Especially loving his cool blue-ish tone to some of his pictures! We have been enjoying his feed for a while now, and we hope to share the joy with you.

[Instagram] Lumi's Feature 3: Nectar and Stone

There is a saying, "Life is short, start with dessert". You would know by now that we have a really soft spot for desserts, especially beautifully crafted ones! Each time we browse through her feed, sweet dreams and fluffy soft spongy feeling filled us up, without fail. Her creation is not only a feast for the eyes, but also looks amazingly delicious and mouth watering at the same time, don't you think so? 

If you love pretty desserts, baking and everything nice (especially in the vein of lovely pastel colours), keep your eyes fixed here, we are introducing to you one of our favourite instagram profiles - Nectar and Stone from Melbourne, Australia.

[Inspiration] Photographer Crush | Cindy Chen from Melbourne

This is yet another new discovery of ours just today. Actually we have been following this photographer via instagram but never really get to checking her blog out until now. We are absolutely delighted that we did. Definitely a great find we had. 

Cindy Chen is a freelance stylist and photographer based in Melbourne. She styles and photographs projects which involve food, lifestyle and product. We have totally fallen in love with her styling and photography, especially how she captures beauty products. We still can't get over the fact that how nice she can make her cat look! (usually we are not so much a cat person and seeing pictures of this feline creature, haha).

[Instagram] So Much To Be Grateful For

It's been quite a while since our last LUMI's own instagram sharing. We love IG, that's for sure. Looking back at the past few months (oh well, at least the most recent two), it has been truly wonderful. They are months full of surprises and happy occasions - a surprise short but fruitful getaway trip to Seremban, a working trip to Bali, a wedding and so much more! 

By looking at our instagram pictures, you would notice that we love colours and our life is surrounded by colours. Yellow seems to be dominating our world, of course, avocado is an occasional luxury and cherry tomato pineapple mixed juice still remains as one of our favourite power boost blends that is so refreshingly energizing and delicious! 

Our surprise trip to Seremban gotten us a short weekend stay at the Grand Lexus Hotel with our own private pool and guess what? I packed everything EXCEPT my swimsuit, even though I was told beforehand by hubby. Gosh! How could I resist a swim? (more of a dip actually) Swimming naked the very first time in my life (in the middle of the night, phew!) was most definitely a scary affair yet some what liberating! (which I shall never do again, am pretty sure of that *_^) That was a great learning weekend where scriptwriting was concerned. Bali trip was an awesome working trip that we could not have asked for more (our previous blog post here). 

September most definitely is a month of wedding bells, especially for us Chinese as we believe it is a really auspicious and good month to get hitched *_^ That included my little brother who was finally married, on that beautiful weekend. I am truly absolutely happy for him! We had so much fun as a family and I am grateful for that, having a great family that is always there for me, personally - be it for my full time production work, or even LUMINNEJ for that matter (especially my supportive hubby and my ever-loving-me sons of two).

Of course, LUMINNEJ would not have come this far, without the continuous support we received from the beauty and fashion brands! We say a HUGE thanks to them, as well as our readers here, our followers on IG, and the rest of the social media platforms. The friendships forged is extremely precious for us and make our LUMI world so much more exciting, adventurous and meaningful. Having the dharma in our life makes it even more so grounded.

[Instagram] Lumi's Feature 1: What For Breakfast

We stumbled upon this amazing talented artist and we instantly fell in love with her feed on instagram! So, we decided to share it with you here. What a cool IG name, What For Breakfast. Now, they really make you feel like such a downer if you ever are the type who skip breakfast, really! See how beautifully serious they take their first meal of the day? Now, you really don't have any reasons not to eat yours *_^

We love the way she styles her food, love how she enjoys this time of the day, and absolutely adore how wonderful it is to love what you eat (and take great photographs of them too) and spend quality time with love ones during such a time of the day. We feel if one cares enough to wake up early each morning to prepare or take her breakfast, she must be someone who truly knows how to treasure life's little pleasure and wonders and her family is a lucky one too. She is none other than Marta Greber *_^

[Instagram] Phases In Life

Previous month had been an equally challenging one for me, personally. As we go about life, doing the things we love to do, at times, harsh reality does sets in, once in a while. It makes you realize how fragile this life can be. Within the same weeks, much was happening. On a global scale, our plane went missing, it became a worldwide attention, around the same time, I received news of passings within the family, one of which involved a young mother and her two children, perished in a car accident. They were robbed of their growing up years, turning old, but sad to say, that is life/death. That by nature, is karma at work. It came so sudden that it was as tragic as one could not seem to be prepared for it, no matter how much you try to remind yourself the impermanence of life, it does slip through our fingers. As the days pass, the weeks follow, we tend to forget, all over again, we then move back to our daily pacing, plunging ourselves into living once again, without contemplating enough the notion of death (embracing death makes us treasure life). 

Stepping into my 40s, personally, age is but a number, yet I would like to eat more healthily (for the first time, going meatless to cultivate compassion towards animals). Now, I try to begin to constantly remind myself, secretly whispering into my own ears that life is short, do what is important or necessary, to be happy (and to bring happiness to others), no matter what, to be loving and kind, to be all that is good and to nurture that Buddha within me, to awaken the ignorance that clouded me all these while. We are but only human, but that in itself, should not be the excuse for us to not remember, not be diligent in reminding ourselves that how lucky we are to be alive. More so, to start living, really living a meaningful life, to be of some significance to this world and the people around us.

It has been awesome few weeks back. Attended a Laura Mercier's Wrap Up Your Flawless makeup workshop with New York based global artist, Luis Soto himself. You can check out my previous extended post here. 

Shiseido Professional's Beauty Innovator Award 2013 at The Royale Chulan Hotel was another amazing dazzling event that I had the pleasure to attend (all thanks to Shiseido Malaysia!). I especially put on a Shiseido Burgundy lip colour (here for more) for that event and wear my favourite earrings by SzeAccessories (here for more).
