Fate has it that even though we remembered incorrectly our exact rendezvous time with this enigmatic yet playful British brand called Jo Malone London that very afternoon, it was the hospitality and determination and kind understanding of the Jo Malone London's Malaysia team that kept us going and told ourselves, we have to make it there, no matter, which eventually, we did (fashionably late, unfortunately).

Bobo KL in Bangsar was transformed into a private space filled with that artistic air, the moment we arrived, as if we have stepped into the world of The Bloomsbury Set during the first half of the 20th century English - an influential group of English writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists, the best known members of which included Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, E. M. Forster and Lytton Strachey. Simple yet intriguing, we were definitely there to celebrate an unconventional life through scents, specially designed by Yann Vasnier, Master Perfumer.

Intensely rich, yet softly alluring, it captured our attention during our media preview previously, and it came back with us, for an extended stay and explorations thereafter. Perhaps it was its ability to send us to a faraway land of Japan, steeped within the steps of the temples, engrossed in the quiet but highly ritualised of a Kohdo ceremony, the Japanese art of incense appreciation, due to one of its rich ingredients - the rare Kyara wood. Other base notes include Leather, Sandalwood and Patchouli. Maybe it could be the more floral accents of its middle notes from an enriched Amber, Black Orchid, Water Lily, Jasmine and rose, illuminated by the clean sensuality of top notes from Black Cardamom, Ginger, Pink Pepper?

Our interest were immediately piqued. The howling of the night wind gathers speed, brushing against the ruffles of my collar,

In a strange way, when we were first introduced to Jo Malone London's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, the scent brought us back to those days when we would bury ourselves in the endless adventures of these pages, traversing the unknown, the vast landscapes, imagining what life throws at us, through the skillful writings of this amazing woman author. Those were the days. 

If I were a woman

The crushing wave that comes rushing towards us, gradually subsides and by the time it reaches our feet, it washes away the fatigue that envelopes our mind, like how the sea water cleans away the sand between our toes, in such a soft yet effortless manner, making us fall in love with the fresh scent, again and again, each time we put it on. Other times, it does feel like the British weather, ever a little melancholic, but never dull. We believe, that is what fascinates us about this cologne. It evokes our imagination, our emotions towards a certain particular time and space, elevates us to those moments that equate to earthiness, freshness, yet very grounded in many ways. You make us feel ALIVE, in an extremely poetic state of mind. You sent us to a faraway land, one that calls for love, whispering into our ears to listen, and be ready to open our mind, and heart, to receive new things, new perspectives. The world of Jo Malone London is new to us and this British brand came to us at the right timing. Perhaps it was a little mischief at work or maybe it was just a little sprinkle of magic. Whichever it may be, it is definitely looking like a #HappyKissmas to us this year with Jo Malone London (here for more).

This Christmas, Jo Malone London is celebrating this special occasion with a party atmosphere. We absolutely adore their advertising campaign, that entire 1950s vibe when men would suit up in sharp looking suits and women would pay extra attention to their feminine side and would truly dress up in pretty dresses, looking incredibly sensual and pretty for that special occasion - glamorous and fabulous in the most beautiful way. 

We had the pleasure to be invited to the brand's Suria KLCC boutique opening recently. With their spacious and well designed boutique, how could we not swoon over this new brightly lit store upon our arrival? It was as if we had stepped into an imaginative space transcended by time, simply because of the culmination and fusion of wondrous scents within the new store that brought us into that world of bespoke luxury, timeless and elegant, but always infused with a charming dash of wit and whimsy. Little did we know that we were about to experience one of our most memorable events of the year, truly.
