Comyns Beautifully Bloomed Padma Collection Revealed

On an enchanted Wednesday morning, the petals of the lotus bloomed beautifully at Neo Tamarind, this time, it will be for eternity, never will they fade away into time for they have been sealed in The 925 Sterling Silver. Walking up the steps brought us into a refreshing new world of the flowers, the call of Comyns latest The Padma Collection gathering. It was a serene clean morning as we were greeted by lotus seeds with flower arrangements in the bowls brightly displayed and some guests gradually signing in. We were informed there will be a flower arrangement session (excited *_^)

The petals of the lotus, beautifully perfect and delicate, were the inspiration for the latest addition to Comyn's distinguished craftsmanship, the Padma Collection. It is a dazzling and contemporary take of the sacred lotus flower that ancient Egyptian scholars believed that it is the symbol of the sun and rebirth due to its nature of closes up and sinks underneath the water at night, but the next morning re-emerges and blooms all over again.

We were amazed by how delicate the bowls look, elegantly stacked together, which can be used as a centrepiece, but surprisingly, if they are displayed separately, they can be used as individual serving bowls on a dinning table or as decorative ornaments in the living room (or even bedroom for that matter, anywhere to your heart's content, we believe. It's up to your imagination, really!) Lots of us were admiring the beauty of the creation.

It is stated that this lustrous 925 Sterling silver collection is created via a process that involves the use of spun silver sheets and moulds. The petals of the bowls are meticulously refined using a technique called "chasing", whereby the process involves forming and crafting the shapes using special "chasing" tools  without removing any precious silver.

As we moved along, the flower arrangement session began. We were shown quite a few ways that one can use the bowls individually, by professional florist, in terms of how to decorate and arrange. In her skillful hands, the flowers and the bowls seemed to immediately come alive and complement one another perfectly. After that session, each guests was given different assortments of beautiful flowers to "play" with, and we had so much fun creating our very own flower creation! As the creative juices flowed, suddenly, everyone became an instant artist *_^ The best part was, we could bring home our very own creation of the day, courtesy of Comyns.

What ensued was a selection of lunch menu that was equally exquisite to go with such a magical occasion. The food was tasty indeed (seeing that we had worked up such an appetite after the flower arrangement) and the company was excellent as we got to meet new friends along the way. How wonderful it was.

Created with utmost care and passion, the Padma Collection is a symbol of uniqueness and individual beauty, which we truly believe will stand the test of time, becoming heirloom pieces that can be passed down from generation to generation. This new collection is available as a set of four bowls or sold individually in varying width of 4,5,7 or 8 inches at Comyns boutiques in Pavilion KL, Bangsar Shopping Centre, The Gardens Mall, Suria KLCC, the head office gallery at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre and selected Royal Selangor stores. The Padma Collection retails from RM6,500 onwards.

For those who love to throw dinner parties at home, or are looking for that special centrepieces to complete the look of your home, The Padma Collection is what you should be looking at.
