Jimmy Lim's Beautiful Collision for Starhill Gallery Fashion Week 2015

We love this award-winning Malaysian fashion designer, Jimmy Lim's creation. In fact, we spoke to him and featured him previously via our FACES segment here and here. We were both elated and sad at the same time when we were invited by him personally to attend his recent Spring/Summer 2015 collection unveiling at Starhill Gallery Fashion Week 2015 for we were out of town and could not make it in person! (What a bummer) Luckily, we have visuals courtesy of the designer and we are glad to be able to share them with you now!

This latest collection from Jimmy draws inspiration from the romantically haunting poem of Lord Byron, entitled "She Walks In Beauty" and suggests that it endears poetic romance, capturing that youthful grace and a fragile clash of unexpected appearance of the usual label's DNA.

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that's best of dark and brigh

Meet in her aspect and her eyes;

Thus mellowed to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies."

Jimmy Lim, as a fashion label has always been about luxe material, juxtaposition of unique designs, details, and silhouettes which are sustainable and interchangeable from season to season. These elements are still part of the latest collection, which we are absolutely happy to see. This season though, showcases some flowy dresses, baggy trousers and relaxed cut tops, almost having that pajamas-like vibe and approach to dressing, while contrasting softness with dramatic skirts and jackets with exaggerated lengths and sculpted details. We personally think that the usual golden yellow colour tone palate that is of Jimmy's signature (his personal favourite colour) was not quite prominently featured or used in this collection, instead, it is replaced with a more darker palate throughout, with accents of cream, silver and bronze.

We super love the stunning opening visuals shown at the Starhill Gallery Fashion Week and uber excited about the upcoming Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2015 due happening in August later, which Jimmy will be showcasing his collection as well! We can't wait to see more exciting pieces from Jimmy then *_^
