A marriage of style and substance, a perfect union of the world of scent and the universe of taste, this is of course, like no other, indeed. We are, totally mesmerized by this unique collaboration between the founder of L'Occitane, Olivier Baussan and the "Picasso of Pastry", nicknamed by Vogue magazine, the pastry chef Pierre Hermé and close friend of Olivier for 20 years.
The result of this close working relationship is one festive Christmas collection that ignites the senses, a line of cosmetics with delicate perfumes, as delicate as the balance of love for plants on one hand, and the tastes of an epicurean on the other. It is the tribute to the Corsican and Mediterranean landscapes, which both these talented artisans and creators love so much. We had the privilege to experience and savour such wondrous moments and sample some of the scents, while enjoying a perfect luncheon courtesy of L'Occitane and Melvita Malaysia previously. Pierre Hermé, creator of the new collection for L'Occitane not only has a memory for flavors but also for scents. He is inspired by "ingredients" that awaken desire, raw materials that conjure up pleasure. "I created these perfumes as if it was a question of taste, in fact," Pierre explains. The outcome? Jasmine-Immortelle Neroli, Grapefruit Rhubarb (Pamplemousse-Rhubarbe), and Honey Mandarin (Miel-Mandarine). Considering "contrasts as affinities", this renowned pastry chef combines floral absolutes, fruity essences and essential oils around gourmet accords worthy of his finest culinary creations. To complete the collection, Olivier designed not just the bottle but also the box. Its lift-off lid and cylindrical form respectively is quite different from the usual perfume box and bottle, which is intriguing to us.
The collection consists of perfumes, body shampoos, perfumed soaps, body lotions and even hand creams. The Jasmine-Immortelle Neroli (Feminine)

Luminous, angelic and sensual, this range is definitely a floral one and absolutely feminine. This fragrance of Pierre Hermé balances the white notes of gardens at dawn with the gold of a flower that still flourishes throughout the Corsican maquis. The key ingredients are Immortelle Essential oils, Jasmine Flower Absolute and Neroli Essence.
Hand Cream, 30ml (MYR41)
Famous for its creams, this festive season sees the creation of this Jasmine-Immortelle Neroli range that includes a cream for dry hands made with Shea butter to help nourish and soften the hands while revealing the scent of a bouquet of white flowers fragrances and Immortelle scent.
