M.A.C World Aids Day With Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 & Viva Glamorous Holiday Collection

December 1st, a significant day for the world, as we celebrates World Aids Day today, a day to remember that, the fight is far from over, the awareness towards HIV/AIDS still needs to be continued, be reminded that the meaning and hard work is beyond just this one day, it is a continuous and collective effort, to fight against the stigma, misconception, misunderstanding of the phenomena which plagued the world many years back when it was first discovered. It shocked the world. The makeup giant, M.A.C Cosmetics has been on this journey for many years now, as what they called it,  Everyday is World Aids Day at M.A.C and today we had an opportunity to celebrate with M.A.C and we spoked to those who are making an impact with this initiative. Created in 1994, the passionate red VIVA GLAM Lipstick raised money and awareness for HIV/AIDS at a time when the pandemic was drastically stigmatized and affecting many. 21 years on, then and now, an unprecedented 100% of the purchase price of any Viva Glam product goes towards the M.A.C AIDS Fund, created solely for the purpose of providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. M.A.C is the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in this area and has been doing a tremendous work in supporting organizations committed to addressing the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS.

This year, in conjunction with World Aids Day, Viva Glam is fronted by once again, Miley Cyrus, with the collection called Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2, consisting of a super-sexy bright orange lipstick and a corresponding lipgloss with sparkling pearl shimmer, each retailed at MYR74 respectively. Not forgetting, since it is the holiday seasons now, M.A.C is also offering the lovely sets - Viva Glamorous (here) and Viva Glam Lip Palette (here) and every cent of the full price sold from the sale of Viva Glam collections will go towards helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

This year, M.A.C Malaysia pledged a total of MYR430,130 to the Malaysia AIDS Foundation. This fund will be channeled to CAKNA (Pertubuhan Komuniti CAKNA Daerah Kuala Terengganu), KASIH (Kota Kinabalu AIDS Support Services Association), FAITH (Kuala Lumpur AIDS Support Services Society), SAHABAT (Sahabat Shelter Home) and WAKE 3 (Shelter Home for Transgender).

When we spoke to Dayang Nurfaizah, our Malaysian renowned singer, this is what she had to say, "I love what M.A.C is doing with its M.A.C AIDS Fund. It is a fun approach to something very serious, you get the message across in an unconventional way, making creating awareness more approachable and relatable, then we are more receptive towards the information, and will have a more open towards learning more about it. I have been involved with the work in regards to World Aids Day since 2011 and I am proud to be a part of this movement and I just love that statement by M.A.C - Responsibility is glamorous" exclaimed an enthusiastic Dayang, telling us that her favourite Viva Glam lip colour is actually the deep brown plum Viva Glam 3.
