The art of watchmaking is an art form that demands great precision, dedication, craftsmanship and passion. The brand name, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been that Swiss brand which upkeeps such tradition and belief since way back in 1833. It is amazing to know that such passion, still continues till today. Perhaps, if you own a piece of a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, you have own one of the world's most complicated and most prestigious watches.
Take the recent BAFTA Best Actor Award Winner, Chiwetel Ejiofor as an example. The British actor received his award on stage wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Reverse de Marche watch in pink gold (which we absolutely LOVE!), looking really dignified and dashing! Deeply honoured and priviledged, he dedicated the prize to his director, Steve McQueen. He won the award playing the role of Solomon Northup in the slavery drama, 12 Years A Slave, which Guardian film critic Peter Bradshaw described it as "a performance of incomparable heroism and presence". Congrats to Chiwetel for such great success (and having such exquisite taste too in timepieces ^_^).
On a different stage, at the Oscars this year, guess who turned up wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre piece? Yes, it's none other than the charismatic the Avengers star, Jeremy Renner, looking all gussied up in formal finery, pairing the look off with a Master Ultra Thin 41 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre where the Oscars was held not too long ago.
On a separate occasion recently, Charlie Chaplin's granddaughters, director actress Carmen and Dolores Chaplin, along with Mann & Miller with the support of Jaeger-LeCoultre and Alliance Renault Nissan hosted a private screening and intimate dinner to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic silent film, The Tramp, in West Hollywood, CA.
As supporters of the world of cinema and creative ingenuity, Jaeger-LeCoultre joins Carmen in paying homage to the unique achievements of her grandfather Charlie Chaplin. The night began with a private screening of two short films, A Time For Everything and The Innovators, both films directed by Carmen Chaplin and produced by Mann & Miller/ Kwanon Films. Thereafter, guests were then escorted to a private dining area where they were served elegant food. Such great time and celebration it was.
We can't wait to attend LUMINNEJ's very first Jaeger-LeCoultre event coming up soon! Looking forward to discovering more about this great art form and learning from the experts themselves and checking out, first-hand the latest collection by the exquisite brand. Meanwhile, enjoy a teaser video below from the brand and more of Jaeger-LeCoultre here.
I'm not that familiar with their watches but the styles certainly have a classic look and luxurious feel.
