KLFW2015 | Justin Yap SS16 Collection - The Softness of A Powerful Woman

Powerful yet sensual, impressive yet expressive and modern yet emotive, these were the elements that danced in our mind when the models strut down the runway of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready-To-Wear 2015 (KLFW2015) recently that Sunday afternoon, at the showcase of Malaysian fashion designer, Justin Yap's Spring/Summer 2016 collection, one that left a memorable impression on us. Congratulations again, yet to another successful show, Justin *_^ 

Featured previously on our FACES segment here, Justin is no stranger to the Malaysian fashion scene and has come a long way from his early years of designing and founded his brand after winning MIFA Best Evening Wear Designer Award in 2005.

This year, Justin's SS16 collection took on a pretty different look and feel, away from his usual bold signature turquoise and jewel tones, in replaced, was a series of softer muted cool neutral coloured pieces that equally speak volume through attention to little details like hand embellished beadings that represent leopard pattern, or even the golden accented accessories worn by the models - simple yet elegant. You should have a relatively good idea which one is our most favourite ensemble from the collection by now *_^

[Sneak Peek] L'Occitane & Melvita Luncheon

Last week it was quite a packed time for us, having some events lined up back-to-back, while juggling with a last-minute production confirmed with client, but no complaints as we were enjoying it to the brim, though a tad hectic. That's life of a modern career woman, right?

This time around, it was a wonderful luncheon, our very first L'Occitane and Melvita event, two-in-one, how fun is that, right? It was indeed. So, here's a quick sneak peek into our lovely time spent with both the French brands. We shall share more with you soon *_^

Sneak Peek | All Things Beautiful With Innisfree

We had the pleasure to attend and experience a beauty picnic that was quite out of the ordinary, last weekend and we had so much fun that we could not help but to share a little sneak peek with you lovelies today. It was relaxing, calming and informative. This was also our very first event with the famous Korean skincare and makeup brand, Innisfree. 

If you are curious as to what we did at the beauty picnic, stay tuned for more updates and we shall perhaps share with you our very first experience using a Korean cushion! (yes, we are a late bloomer/late catching up with some trends, from the looks of it, haha). Thanks Innisfree Malaysia for having us and thanks to the PR team who extended the invitation. Kudos to a job well done.

Live Streaming | Burberry Prorsum Womenswear SS2016

If you have followed us here long enough, you would have known that we love Burberry as a brand and we are humbled to be given the opportunity to collaborate with this exquisite British brand, for yet another season, to bring you LIVE streaming of the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear SS2016 show right from London this coming Monday 21st September, 1:00pm local time. 

Malaysian time, it would mean 8:00pm at night. So, let's come back again here to watch the runway show, live with us, will you?

[Inspiration] That First Sight of Jour d’Hermès

It is always the visual that captures our eyes. This one above, to be exact, when we were exploring through streams of images via pinterest earlier this evening, it came to us at the most perfect timing. Immediately, it transported us back to that very afternoon, 18 weeks back in time, when we first stepped foot into the Hermès boutique here in The Gardens Mall.

The very moment we laid eyes on that bottle of Jour d’Hermès, our heart skipped a thousand beats, instantaneously, it felt like falling in love, for the very first time, hopelessly in love, for we have no words to describe, how succinctly beautiful that glass bottle was, displayed right at the centre, lit by a beautiful ray of light, making it the centre of attention, to her admirer, moi. We thought to ourselves, this is one of the most simple yet stunning bottle of fragrances that we have seen. The curves, the lines, almost  feels like caressing a woman's silhouette, so sensual and feminine, yet denotes a tinge of masculinity that a modern woman possesses. Almost felt like poetry in action. 

Further exploration brought us to the Jour d’Hermès site here. A beautiful journey ensued, meandering through hypnotic images, filled with voices (Jean-Claude Ellena explains how he created the fragrance, how Pierre Hardy designed the bottle) and traces of being a woman. Such wonders. If we had a chance to do it all again, we would still choose to be there, that very afternoon, that very moment in time, admiring that beautiful bottle of Jour d’Hermès. If we had a chance to submit our dawn till dusk Jour d’Hermès visuals two years back, when it was first launched, we would have put forth these ones we took, of one beautiful morning, when we wondered out, for no particular reason, perhaps to be lost, in the beauty of it all.

Inspiration | Quick Monday + Fall Pick Me Up

Woke up earlier today to quite a gloomy and really hazy Monday morning. Yes, from where we are, we have been experiencing some really bad weather, with bad air condition. Not good at all for our sensitive nose. Sigh... having said that, our early morning today got us into some writing work for client, as well as some new discoveries online which we find pretty lovely *_^ We came across these and thought it would be a great pick-me-up, just to share with you. We need some cheering up right about now! 

Here's a hint of fall mood, with a little Korean style with the chic two-toned trench coat and some fall beauty lip on this Monday morning and hope it will set you lovelies (and us included) to a better and great start to the rest of the busy week ahead. [Inspiration | Musing] Love Me Like You Do

Love me like you do, when you no longer able to see through me, when you no longer be able to understand, what I have been hopelessly trying to tell you. Love me like you do, when the only choice to do is to stay by me, when leaving is no longer an option, but just a way to fill in the gaps in between us, ever so politely, not wanting to hurt each other. 

Love me like you do, when  things change ever so untraceably, like the leaves that glide down the branches of hope, unknowingly, during fall. Love me like you do, when the only thing we could do, is to turn our backs at one another, and say our last farewell.

[Review] Melvita Organic Pulpe De Rose Plumping Radiance Duo

We were extremely delighted when Melvita Malaysia approached us to try out some of their organic skincare products previously. NARS Malaysia Celebrated Its MidValley Store Opening With A Fabulous Party!

You know you would be gearing up for a great party if you received an invitation from the iconic makeup brand, NARS. We could almost imagine the crowd, the fun, the array of makeups and the drinks. That was indeed a great night, for it was the party to celebrate NARS new store opening at our Midvalley Mall here previously.

[Inspiration | Musing] Oh September Please Be Gentle And Graceful

To be forgotten is to be buried deep within, that little girl, wandering along, in search of that women who has grown out of her time, seated right there, looking right back at herself - hoping, waiting, longing to be wanted, longing to be seen... yet not to be blinded, only to be unforgotten, once again.

We only live once. September has come, and we can only wish that it be gentle and ginger. We are not the only ones who try to terribly survive the gripping of time, slipping away, ever so unknowingly. We get the feeling that this should be left alone, this time, it has to be let alone, to take its time, to settle in with the flow of things to come. Have you come to terms with the departure of August yet? We have... and yes, we only live once (as humans), so make this life a meaningful one.
