Time flies when you are having fun, right? That was what happened to us here, well, in some ways, and spring is almost coming to an end, to be replaced and welcomed by the hot summer. (though it feels almost summer all-year-round here from where we are) We are bidding farewell to spring with lovely shades of nudes from NARS Cosmetics today. If you have not already noticed, we love nude shades for makeup, perhaps in some ways, we play it safe quite a bit, and feel most comfortable in them. Nonetheless, you may have caught a glimpse of some other more dramatic pastel icy mint or electric blue hues from NARS Spring 2016 Nouvelle Vogue Collection.
NARS Hammamet Eyeshadow Duo (MYR128 for 4g)
There is something alluring about earthy tones, and this limited-edition neutral-hued spring eyeshadow duo immediately caught our eyes. One will notice, on the left, it is a lighter shade, NARS called it "matte beige" with a semi-matte finish and a soft texture. It smoothes onto the eyelids in a lovely manner, it does even out our eyelids which can seem dull at times, (when we don't get enough sleep *_^).
On the right of the pan, it is a slightly darker "bronze rose", muted coppery brown with warm undertone. That little shimmery texture is what we love about this shade, as it instantly glam up our eye look ever so slightly. These eyeshadows can be worn alone, or can be over layered and mixed to create different effect, be it smokey or gradient. They are pretty pigmented, long wearing and did not crease on us, which is good news. Naturally subtle or smouldering hot, it is up to you (especially used with a dampened brush). We feel this Hammamet shade can be classy yet modern at the same time. Like any eyeshadows from NARS, it comes with a mirror and iconic black casing. Loving them! Here for more colourful shades and combination of the eyeshadow duo.
NARS Lip Gloss, Instant Crash (MYR94 for 6ml)
Like we have confessed before, only few lip glosses interest us and one of them would be from NARS as we have used one from NAR Christopher Kane's Collection previously here and love the lightweight texture and none stickiness it feels on our lips, most likely would be due to its nourishing ingredients that comfort the lips. The doe-foot applicator also makes application easy and fuss-free, we feel. Instant Crash shade is one that also belongs to the earthy tone hues, works harmoniously with our Hammamet Eyeshadow duo, if a consistent look is what you are going for, or else, one can always contrast the lip shades with some other daring and more vibrant hues like "Scandal" or "Misbehave". Here for more selections.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Kari (MYR109 for 1.5g)
We have also mentioned previously about NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow singles, these little wonders which one can use them both ways - dry and wet for different intensity and pay off to achieve varied eye looks. This spring, being described as a "soft rose pink", this shade called Kari looks really pretty in the square little pan (comes with mirror). When applied onto our eyelids, the shade comes across as a little muted, almost has a greyish tone to it. It does not look as pretty from the pan, unfortunately. Wearing it wet improved slightly, but not as flattering as we had hope for. We do find that it works better layering it over other shades. We are still very much in love with our previous Callisto shade actually *_^
There you go, lovelies. We are almost hitting summer very soon, it may as well have arrived for some, if you are at different parts of the world. We hope you have managed to grab some of your favourite spring makeup items from the brand by now. Thanks NARS Malaysia for the love. Here for more about the brand. If you have been following the brand, it looks like summer is off to an interesting start for NARS already.
Have a lovely and luminously happy week!
