[Inspiration | Musing] March, You Can Be Beautiful

March announces it presence quite nonchalantly to the point that it seems like soft petal of withering white roses, too soft to the touch, but subtle to the heart. We could imagine the vibe of spring, that dreamy quality, as if, taking a deep breath, means we have awaken to a new exciting month.

Work has been pretty hectic, a little crazy, quite far off from what we were wishing - taking things slow. Perhaps life is still life after all, one needs to make a living... how we wish we could just forget everything else and keep writing, stringing words together here and just take pictures and keep photographing, and sharpening our skills, every step of the way. Could we? Looks like not, at this point.

A few good things come with March though, started binging on a highly anticipated Korean series called Descendants of The Sun, starring the adorable looking Song Joong Ki and the beautiful Song Hye Kyo (here for a glimpse). Really loving the chemistry between the leads and the story progression. We do hope that it will progress in an interesting manner and ends well. As the universe has somehow arranged, our wish to travel more this year is coming true, somewhat. We are hitting the road again starting tomorrow. Perhaps a more relaxing trip this time around, please?

All visuals via Tokyo Bleep Tumblr here, except the white roses, the word March (here) and the gif images. Hope your March is looking fabulously magical so far, lovelies. We shall leave you with a Korean number and wishing you all the best for the month, and guess what? We shall be thinking about you, most definitely.

With love,
Jeann

[Review] The Face Inc, Doctor Prescribed Skincare At Your Fingertips

Doctor's prescription skincare is something quite new to us, as growing up right till now, we never really had any drastic or major skin concerns or issues we face with our skin (thank goodness *_^), unlike some other friends whom we know, continue to battle with acne, blemishes and troubled skin, we are quite sure that they would be very familiar with visiting a dermatologist or skin doctor.

Now, with the existence of this beauty brand, The Face Inc, which gets serious with our skincare regime with serious science and technology, and using the online platform to make consulting a medical practitioner for beauty purposes much easier for those who require such assistance. The brand's goal is to provide accessibility to formulations and therapeutic protocols usually only available through prescription by skin doctors and dermatologists. We had the pleasure to attend The Face Inc's official launch in Malaysia (the brand was established in Singapore first) and their new release of the Eye Lift at Ruyi & Lyn recently and learnt more about the brand's approach and philosophy from the founder and Managing Director, Wilson Goh and Wenda Tan, The Face Inc Professional Affairs Manager herself. We shall also share with you our experience of using our own set of personalized Dr. Rei's prescribed skincare.

[Inspiration] That Lovely Thing Called Tulle

In a perfect make-believe world, all angels would be dressed in a magical material in fashion called tulle, this is what was conjured up in our dreams, whenever our mind went overdrive and could not stop but day dreaming away.

Of course, in this close to perfect real world (depends on how you want to look at the glass *_^), for us, there is this magical and endearing quality about tulle that it seems to never go out of style, its timeless quality makes it so everlasting. Strangely, no matter how much we love the look of it, we do not own a piece of this garment in our closet but always dream of wearing one, honestly.

Tulle the name itself actually originates from a city called TULLE in the Southern central region of France, where it was well known as the center of lace and silk production in the 18th century. Learn a little more about tulle here. Whenever we think of tulle, we immediate picture some lightweight fabric/material or netting commonly used in veil, wedding gowns or ballet tutus. Most definitely due to its feminine feel, touch and look that it presents itself. Nonetheless, as you can see here, there are more ways to incorporate tulles in the things in our lives to give it that extra lovely dreamy quality to them.

Here are some looks which we love and put together, hope that you will enjoy this classic yet modern form of fashion which can never go wrong no matter when you put one on. All visuals via LUMI's Pinterest here. Do you own a tulle skirt in your wardrobe, we wonder?

How has your week been treating you, lovelies? So much to do this week, we are hoping for a more relaxing upcoming week ahead *_^

With love,
Jeann

Missha Has Arrived In Malaysia At Sunway Pyramid

Most of us have been beaten, yes, beaten by the Korean wave bug - from the infamous Korean dramas, K-pop, Korean food, right down to K-beauty, fashion and what not. We could not help it, can we? The Korean wave sweeps across the entire globe (still remember PSY's Oppa Gangman Style?) like a hot fever, refuses to subside. So, we are pretty sure most of us would be excited to hear of another famous Korean beauty brand that has successfully made it to our Malaysian shore, aren't we? This time around, it is a Korean brand called MISSHA. We had the pleasure to attend their launch some time end of last year and we were super excited to check it out, as we chanced upon their famous BB base products online (with snail slime extract which got our interest piqued), and they look promising indeed.

Apparently, Missha is a very popular beauty brand in Korea, hence, we believe the brand is finally here, adding to an already mushrooming and existing prolific Korean beauty brands in Malaysia (one will be surprised how many are there). Chose to open its very first store at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall (L1.39), Missha selected a corner unit, right above the skating ring, just across Haagen Daz and all beauty products, skincare and makeup are flown in directly from Korea. So, you can shop with a peace of mind, rest assured that they are authentic.

Travel | The Familiarity of The Unfamiliar That Is Hong Kong

Visuals via LUMINNEJ's Instagram
Visuals via LUMINNEJ's nstagram

Remember when we said that we wish to do a little more travel? Stepping out more for 2016, making that thought on the last day of 2015, hoping and wishing here? In a strange way, the universe must have heard us *_^ We landed a very last minute shoot project (moi is a full time screenwriter/producer by the way, if you don't already know) and the place we needed to head to was this place we had a brief encounter with many years back - Hong Kong. We were due to shoot a short interview with this British band called The Vamps (here), which actually recorded the song, Kungfu Fighting for the renowned animated movie, Kungfu Panda 3 which will be hitting the theatre worldwide real soon. They also voiced some of the characters in the movie, if we were not mistaken.

Perhaps due to the last minute nature of the project, it was destined to be some what unexpected in many ways. Drama set in way before the shoot even began! We missed our flight that very early morning (NOOO... but unfortunately YES! Don't ask why for our hubby could not even fathom the rational behind this!), landed in Hong Kong two hours later then scheduled, though we managed to reach the shoot location way earlier than expected of us, and right before the shoot began, the sole of our sports shoes came right off! Can you believe that?

Fortunately, the interview with The Vamps went well and we got what the client wanted, all thanks to my capable camerawoman whom we have been working with for some time now. She was such a trooper (yeah, we were both under the weather that day, and we had to ran like Olympic runners, dashing for the last 100m to the boarding gate, the second time around to catch our flight to Hong Kong earlier that morning!).

Well, lesson learnt? WE NEED MORE TRAVELING TRIPS! haha *_^ The second day was a much calmer one, though it rained and we were just enjoying the extra cold weather of the city that time (right after the very first ever below zero climate in many years for Hong Kong), walking around this area called Tsuen Wan 荃灣, around the vicinity of the hotel that we were staying, Dorsett Tsuen Wan, small little hotel but comfortable enough to soothe our uber tired body at the end of the day. We managed to check out this quaint little place called Jockey Club, Tak Wah Park 賽馬會德華公園. Here for more

Traveling is such an amazing feeling, no matter how brief or rush it may seem, for us, it was like a rare treasure being uncovered. Hong Kong is a city which never cease to amaze us, yet it is still one that eludes us right up till this trip. We really wish to go back there again, but with more time and poise, to really get into the pulse of the city and explore beyond what we have captured here.

Till our next adventures, we wish that our next venture out of Malaysia will be a less heart pounding and stressful one *_^

With love,
Jeann

Spirited Away With Jo Malone London's Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, With Incense & Embers Scented Candle

If I were a girl
The howling of the night wind gathers speed, brushing against the ruffles of my collar,
rubbing against my neck, it feels exhilarating, yet anxious in anticipation, as if,
something exciting is about to burst onto the night scene,
I don't particularly like adventures like this, as much as the boys, but then again,
who likes to be left out, right?

If I were a girl, perhaps I would be Anne, one of the "famous five" in an Enid Blyton's book. In a strange way, when we were first introduced to Jo Malone London's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, the scent brought us back to those days when we would bury ourselves in the endless adventures of these pages, traversing the unknown, the vast landscapes, imagining what life throws at us, through the skillful writings of this amazing woman author. Those were the days.

If I were a woman
The crushing wave that comes rushing towards us, gradually subsides and by the time it reaches our feet, it washes away the fatigue that envelopes our mind, like how the sea water cleans away the sand between our toes, in such a soft yet effortless manner, making us fall in love with the fresh scent, again and again, each time we put it on. Other times, it does feel like the British weather, ever a little melancholic, but never dull. We believe, that is what fascinates us about this cologne. It evokes our imagination, our emotions towards a certain particular time and space, elevates us to those moments that equate to earthiness, freshness, yet very grounded in many ways. You make us feel ALIVE, in an extremely poetic state of mind. You sent us to a faraway land, one that calls for love, whispering into our ears to listen, and be ready to open our mind, and heart, to receive new things, new perspectives. Strangely, it reminds us of this movie, P.S. I Love You here.

[Live Streaming] Burberry Womenswear February 2016

Burberry is making some huge changes. The brand even came up with a short teaser video (here) entitled  "Under Construction" leading up to their upcoming Womenswear February 2016 show (hint, sequins?). Following the recent announcement of Burberry closing the gap between shows and streamlining them down from 4 shows to 2 annually is a move that CEO and Chief Creative, Christopher Bailey said, "The changes we are making will allow us to build a closer connection between the experience that we create with our runway shows and the moment when people can physically explore the collections for themselves" is quite an interesintg one. Seasonless, immediate and personal, the new format and calendar have been designed with a global audience in mind.

The show will mark the first time that Burberry presents its womenswear collection under the new 'Burberry' label on the runway. The new label unifies the previous Prorsum, London and Brit lines, in a move that has been designed to simplify the presentation of the brand's full product range. Award-winning British musician, Jake Bugg will be performing live for the show.

So, be sure to come back here and watch it LIVE with us, this coming 22nd January, 2016 at 9:00pm (Malaysian time, 1:00pm London time). We are extremely honored to be able to bring this show LIVE to you, once again, thanks to the love and support shown by Burberry to LUMINNEJ.

See you again this coming Monday night then, lovelies and have a great weekend ahead *_^

With love,
Jeann

My Valentine 2016

The V day seems illusive but in fact it is as simple as petals of pink roses, beautiful as they may be, but reality sets in when it is their time to fade away, to announce the departure of their mere short existence on earth, that is to please the suitor, to entertain the admirer, to soothe the heart that is broken beyond repair, the hopeless soul.

The only one thing that we shall not let go, perhaps, would be our undying love for the pursuit of beauty in life, for we only live once. We should make this once in a life time journey a beautiful and meaningful one then, shall we?

Happy Valentine's Day 2016, lovelies, today and every other day of our lives.
