Dreamy Miss Dior Blooming Scent Ad Campaign

We are truly loving these latest Christian Dior's perfume ad campaigns, featuring the deliciously exquisite Natalie Portman, the face of the new Miss Dior essence, Blooming Bouquet. We can't help but to share it here. These speaks of a quintessentially feminine look - pinkish, soft flowy and flowery details, basking in the pure sunlight, magnificently captured through the lens of the skillful photographer, Tim Walker.

Funny enough, we all (well, some of us, really) love "bad boys", in some wicked way, no? Perhaps, we "fall" for the image or representation of them on film, or even TV. Case in point, don't you love that bashful, cunning-intellectual yet somewhat naughty big bully Choi Young-do (played by the dashing Kim Woo-Bin) in the hit Korean series, The Inheritors? One can't seem to not fall for his mischief, his purposeful picking-on Cha Eun-Sang (female lead played by the girl-next-door-looking Park Shin-Hye) but yet in end end, we still forgive him for doing so?

Diamond is a girl's best friend? Most definitely for some of us. We will (almost) always be attracted to that glittering precious stone, especially if it is beautifully crafted and made. A Refreshing Way of Eating - Food For The Soul

We love this place so much that we have visited the Kechara Forest Retreat for a few times this month already. It's a stay away from home, away from the hustle bustle of the city life, and retreat into a place where nature calls and beckons. One will most definitely find it peaceful here. Just look at the greenery, the flowers and what nature has to offer, aren't they just beautiful? It is also a sanctuary where a conscious community is built where we learn not only to respect and nurture the mother earth, but to also nurture our own spiritual path as well.

We brought our family there for a one-night stay, attended the morning puja (prayers) and we even helped out with the green gardening there. It is awesome that the kids get to know where their food actually come from *_^ (apart from just eating it on the plates!) and learn to contribute their effort to give more. Herbs and vegetables planted here are safe as no harmful chemical pesticides are being used. After our puja, we were being served an array of very fresh green-garden-own-grown-produces-made dishes for the day. Look how delicious they are, tasted really GOOD too!

When one think of the colour pink, one can't help but to associate it with feeling of softness, sweet and nice. Happy Lunar New Year 2014!

Here comes the year of the wooden horse! As we are just a few days away from ushering in this festive occasion, most would be busy preparing for the Chinese New Year - cleaning up the house, preparing the dishes, buying new clothes, praying and many others.  

This year, it would be my first year celebrating it without a very special person in my life. I would most definitely miss her deeply. I miss her warmth, her strength, her love and her passion for taking real good care of us, as a family. She is none other than my mom. One thing for sure, I would definitely miss her cooking. She used to make the BEST nasi dagang (a local Kelantanese steam red rice dish with coconut milk/santan, taken with curry chicken or fish and acar timun/pickles), amongst other dishes that she could easily cook up, like a pro chef!

We love this house! The concept to the house is the play of transparencies and light filters. It is spacious, modern with a minimalistic approach. If you have no kids at home, the staircases with suspended steps do not seem that intimidating after all. The house seems to come alive at night with such beautifully crafted and designed lights that illuminate the creative space. 

Once the sliding glass door is opened, it totally frees one of the corners of the ground. During the day, it bathes the internal space of the living room with sunlight. The living room then becomes the extension of the garden, to give the notion of a more wider space, and bringing in the nature to the house.

A Lovely Pink Afternoon With RMK [PLAY ON PINK]

We were cordially invited to this part of the town, a place called WORK@Clearwater, and one must be wondering why (but later we found out). Upon arriving, am pretty much fascinated by the way this cosy restaurant, PLOY was being decorated and turned into for a fun pink afternoon event. Yes, we were at RMK's 2014 Spring Summer Collection Press Launch, how lovely is that? Great way to start the new year 2014 for LUMINNEJ *_^

SENKA Speedy Perfect Whip - The Gentle and Quick Way To Cleanse

This came as a really early new year present from SENKA last year but I never really had a chance to try it out yet as I have been using the other SENKA cleansing products which I find work wonders. This latest product from SENKA is called SENKA Speedy Perfect Whip.

My family and I went for a short get-away holiday counting down to the new year, checking ourselves into The Swiss Gardens Residence right smack in KL city centre end of last year. It was fun walking down the streets, across the busy roads of Changkat Tong Shin or even Bukit Bintang, hunting down food and did some shopping. We went all the way down to even Lot 10 and Pavilion area as and when we had the time, basically checking out the Christmas and New Year countdown. Boy, you won't believe how dirty my face felt each time I got back to the hotel! The fume from the buses, the cars, you name it, I could feel it. 

Luckily, I had my trusted SENKA Perfect Oil and Perfect Gel with me. So, I had no worries as I knew after using either one of these, my face would be cleansed, comfortably. You can check out the two products at my previous blog post here. 

Recently, I finally started trying out SENKA's new addition to its existing Perfect series - SENKA Speedy Perfect Whip. I guess this Japanese brand which puts consumer first knows what's best for modern women like myself. We love skincare that works fast, yet effective and high quality while pampering our skin and complements the rest of our skincare routine effortlessly at the same time. Now, this product is wicked! With just one pump, you don't even need to lather to create that thick, creamy foamy texture that you usually need to rub for about 30 seconds. This comes out instantly foamy already and ready to be applied to your entire face. How cool is that? 

I love the simple packaging, as always, from SENKA and I like that it uses less water to rinse it off our face than the usual cleanser. (psst, usual rinsing with normal cleanser requires about 1 minute, equivalent to 12 litres of water used. The water consumed to rinse off the Speedy Perfect Whip is reduced to 6 litres, which comes up to approximately 4,380 litres of water saved in a year!). Furthermore, it does not feel dry but keep our face moisturized. It's definitely worth looking into if you are a lover of lather-foamy-facial cleanser and don't like much fuss *_^

A Truly White Occasion: Za True White Ex Launch

Our very first beauty event of the year 2014 and it came in all white, so nice (post christmas feeling). We were invited to the unveiling of the all-new Za True White Ex at the lovely Alexis Bistro, The Gardens Mall, Midvalley last week.  The venue of the press launch was all nicely decorated with all-white theme (you can see mashmallows in big clear glass bottle, white lily, white candles, white draping, almost everything that can come in the colour white). Lovely concept to tie-in with this latest whitening range that was about to be revealed to us. 

Burberry Prorsum Menswear A/W14: A Painterly Journey

A brand founded way back in 1856, very much steeped in history, tradition and craftsmanship, Burberry very recently showcased its Burberry Prorsum menswear Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, entitled A Painterly Journey, part of the fourth London Collections: Men week (since its debut in June 2012). LUMINNEJ is extremely thrilled to be given the opportunity to be a part of this esteemed occasion, streaming the show LIVE via our blog here!

The first thing that grabbed our attention, was most definitely the song Lilac Wine, performed live by Clare Maguire (who has such a hypnotic voice) as the first male model strutted down the long runway in the London's Kensington Gardens. The collection, as a whole does fit that whole vision of what Christopher Bailey wanted to achieve - that fusion of artists and painters attitude and work, with the traditions of menswear, yet with a sense of dreamy romantic flair to it. It shows in the pieces of beautifully hand-painted floral printed silk squares, equastrian blanket scarves and leaf designed scarves, among others. Of course, a Burberry collection would not be complete without its signature check motif.

Colour palate are more towards charcoal, stone, bitter chocolate, brilliant navy, pretty muted with quiet sense of attention. There are tonnes to choose from when it comes to silhouettes. What really caught our attention in this collection, in fact, are the accessories, especially the bags that the models were carrying!  Such creative work, love the designs of the St Ives bag in geometric blanket, weave rug, especially the ones with six different iconic global city skylines (London, Shanghai and many others) motif.

What is also amazing about Burberry is its fashion-forward approach in providing digital experiences for its brand lovers, globally. You can practically watch a LIVE Burberry show, in any parts of the world, as long as you are wired in and connected to the internet! Burberry is practically in most of the social platforms available today. The WeChat platform delivered the most personalised Burberry social show experience to date. Using responsive text, followers could explore different show storylines by messaging keywords to unlock layers of content relating to the event and guests. Now, how cool is that! (China followers will be very pleased *_^). The show is basically fully optimised for mobiles.

For die-hard fans of Burberry, one can take advantage of its Runway Made To Order services, whereby personalized nameplates can be added to custom-made outerwear, bags, knitwear, embroidered onto scarves and so much more, allowing customers to be the first to own and personalize next season's collection months before it hits the store. So, what are you waiting for? Here for just that.

Some of the guests attended the show included Chinese actor, Chen Kun, Korean actor Yu Ah In (his very first Burberry show). British musicians Tinie Tempah, Paloma Faith, James Righton, British model Suki Waterhouse and many others, most look exceptionally stunning in Burberry.

Well, it was indeed quite an experience and most definitely, a wonderful collection, with such deep British sentiments and love for quality and style. Till the next Burberry show, have an awesome weekend, everyone *_^
