"Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin" says world renowned makeup artist and founder to the already well-known international beauty brand, Bobbi Brown, Bobbi herself. We also believe, beautiful day starts with a beautiful morning, with great vibes and spring feel that could almost refresh and restart the day, anew and alive, even before you begin your day right down to the end of it. That's how important a good morning is, and that was exactly what went down that very lovely morning at Alexis Bistro & Wine Bar at Bangsar Shopping Centre recently, hosted by the brand, to unveil their latest Spring 2016 offerings. Thanks for having us, Bobbi Brown Malaysia.
It was intimate, it was relaxing. We were first and foremost enthralled by the set-up and decoration for the morning, a long table filled with Bobbi Brown goodies that looked so good that one almost thought that you can feast on them. Greens and fresh little potted plants dotted and accentuated the setting. The ever-so-friendly Education Manager for Bobbi Brown (Asia Pacific), Felix Nguyen opened the morning session by telling us how he could not go without applying a Bobbi Brown mask during his travelling trips, even on the plane itself (you should see his fine complexion, it does show *_^) and went on to share with us some of Bobbi Brown's latest Spring collections and its concept, mainly a holistic approach to skincare and makeup, to achieve a luminous beauty, coupled with flawless makeup and a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Yes, beautiful makeup do require a beautiful skin to start off with. Hence, we are absolutely in love with the new Bobbi Brown Instant Detox Mask. This is one of the power-trio pack of masks that the brand has ever introduced. The other two are Skin Nourish and Radiance Boost.
Bobbi Brown Instant Detox Mask (MYR177 for 75ml)
Comes in a tube, it is immediately chic and easy to travel and bring around with, this new Instant Detox Mask by Bobbi Brown is a purifying deep cleansing mask, designed to clear away our impurities and pollutant, in a way, to detox our skin to reveal a more cleaner, healthier and clearer looking skin.
There is something very intriguing about this detox mask. It does not feel like any of our usual clay deep-cleansing mask, though this is a clarifying clay-based formula. When we spread it over our skin, it will not cover our face fully and completely. What we mean is that it is quite "fluid" that it moves around a little, the texture is smooth and more "watery", not as drying as a usual clay mask. We believe it is due to its blend of Hawaiian Sea Water and mineral-rich Amazonian White Clay. (a natural clay derived from the Brazilian Amazon and is traditionally used for skin treatment). To be applied on a damped skin, leave it on for 2 to 5 minutes and wash off with warm water.
When the mask dries down, it does not harden tremendously. It changes its color a little and you could see all your pores pretty visibly *_^ (that is if you have enlarged pores like we do) We feel that our face is not stripped off its moisture and still feels nice and tender, after washing off. Its sea salt and sea water ingredients do help to slog away pore-clogging impurities and detox our skin, naturally, we feel. The mask is to be used once a week or as needed, depends on your skin condition and requirement.
This is definitely a winner! One of the best clay masks we have tried so far. Bobbi Brown has done a great job in releasing its very first mask and it works wonders. One needs to experience it oneself to understand what we are saying here. Highly recommended. Now, we are super intrigued by the other two masks already *_^ Skin Nourish, as the name suggests, is to give skin its moisture and plumping effect while Radiance Booster is to help refine, re-texture the skin to reveal a glowing complexion.
That morning, Bobbi Brown also got our interest piqued with those super gorgeous glittering Sunkissed Gold and Pink Eyeshadow Palettes that would spice up any spring looks. Nude Finish Illuminating Powders? Those are eye catching too, don't you think? We were treated with such a great morning breakfast, healthy and hearty while having fun checking out these new makeup items for spring. Most definitely a good time!
Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color Oil-Infused Shine (MYR95 for 2.3g)
Bobbi Brown calls this the oil-infused shine kind of lip color, so oil and shine indeed it is. Bobbi's new and modern take to lip color is one that is formulated with a blend of 5 natural plant oils and butters, including an Olive Oil Complex, Avocado, Babassu, Jojoba and Cocoa Seed Butter as well as Vitamin C and E. It is designed in mind to provide intense hydration by creating a barrier to lock in moisture to give one a softer, plumper and refined lips, after prolong used.
The shade we have is Coral Pop, a really bright coral color. Like any other Bobbi Brown's lipsticks, this highly nourishing solid lip oil comes in a sleek black casing with golden rim. We do feel the emollient is abundant and glides on the lips smoothly and effortlessly. The only thing we find is that the coverage is not enough for our two-toned lips. Perhaps we need to check out other darker shades (like the one worn by Kate Upton) to give us better coverage and pigmentation pay-off, or is it the more lighter ones? We have to admit we are more of a matte finish kind of lipstick lover, so this would not appeal to us that much, but our lips do love the rich moisture level that it provides whenever we put this on. If you are a fan of shiny and moist looking pout, you would definitely love this one. Check out the shades of this range here.
