[Review] M.A.C Cosmetics July Highlights | Fashion Pack, Dare Hue! Brow Pencil & Amplified Cream Lipstick

M.A.C Cosmetics have always been a brand that embraces diversity, creativity, individuality and colours with character and distinctive strong personality that sometimes do surprise us. A recent meet up with our good friends at M.A.C Malaysia saw us bringing home some makeup products which totally caught our fancy. We shall be sharing with you our quick thoughts and experience playing with these July picks. As always, thanks M.A.C Malaysia for the huge love and support.

M.A.C Fashion Pack | She's A Model (9 shades at MYR268)
This is one pretty eye palette and a fun one too. Comes in a clear see-through casing and a square pan, signature of M.A.C, it has a combination of colours for the eyes. There are two palettes in this series - She's A Model and Runway Worthy. The one we have is called She's A Model. This is part of the Fashion Pack collection that includes Fluidline Pen, Lipstick and M.A.C Studio Nail Lacquer.

The eyeshadow colours are as follows:
Fresh Blade: a pale frosted yellow (veluxe pearl)
Gilded Lids: a bright yellow with pearls (satin)
Sample Sized: a dirty golden olive (frost)
Fab Accent: a soft nude (matte)
Cool Compliment: a dirty mid-tone neutral (matte)
Dance In The Dark: a deep cool brown (matte)
Big Attitude: a dirty grey (frost)
Not Basic Black: a charcoal brown with pearl (velvet)
Teal/She's A Model: a blackened teal with pearl (veluxe pearl)

We love all the shades in this palette, as we naturally gravitate towards nude or natural wash of colours when it comes to our eye makeup. If they are a little frosty or with slight hint of shimmer, the better as this sort of formula tends to brighten up our eye areas which may seem lacklustre without any eyeshadow on. Our favourites are Big Attitude and Sampled Size. The only odd one out and we had to struggle with is Teal. We tend to use this one quite sparingly on our eyes, especially to line our lids only. Anything beyond that, we shall need more professional help or advice *_^ Here for more.

M.A.C Dare Hue! Brow Pencil | Clearly Groomed (MYR74)
When we first got this, we asked, "This is an eyebrow pencil?" That pastel light cream shade totally took us by surprise. According to M.A.C, this one called Clearly Groomed is a nude beige shade. This is a gel-gliding, styling and sculpting pencil, it coats the brows in unexpected colours. The formula is an on-trend matte finish, it can actually be worn on the eyes as liner. They come in 6 pastel shades including mint and lavender, can you believe it?

Yes, upon application, it does have a wax feel to it, it sort of made our eyebrow clump together though, not in the most pleasing way. It does not feel matte, as what is stated by M.A.C. but rather a more creamy finishing. The shade really baffled us and we didn't think we could carry it well enough (perhaps we are not that on-trend after all *_^). One of the least favourite products that we have used from M.A.C actually. We feel it works better if you are heading for a party, or want to create a certain theme-look that is artsy or out of this world. Sorry M.A.C, can't seem to fall in love with either the shade or the formula even after much attempts. Here for more.

M.A.C Amplified Cream Lipstick | Stylist's Tip (MYR74)
Our first lipstick was from M.A.C Cosmetics and we have never looked back. It always glides on smoothly and with bold colour payoff. This one, called Stylists Tip is a deep violet shade, part of the Fashion Pack collection. Not totally our top pick if we had to choose it ourselves, if you asked us as we are quite the classic kind of gal when it comes to our lip colours - the pink, the bold red, the brown, the nude and all in between. It took us a while to get used to it and shall have to brave ourselves to use it more, perhaps only for those vampy occasions. But you are a total violet lover, you will love this one. We could not locate this lipstick via the M.A.C Cosmetics Malaysian site, so here for more (USA site).

Here you go, some M.A.C Cosmetics for this July, which we have tried. The eye palette is definitely our favourite as it has endless mix and match possibilities, like the lip palette we fell in love with few seasons back. Here for more about the colourful world of M.A.C Cosmetics.

Stay luminous and happy always, lovelies *_^

With love,
Jeann

  1. Eee what great MAC products you got to take home! I'm quite intrigued by the brow pencil; I don't fill in brows but I'd love to find some tricks to accentuate and sculpt my brow easily!

  3. I've not shopped MAC make-up in a long while, so I will have to check out more lipsticks now. Love the colour, and also the palette seems to be a lovely one for me, since I usually stick to neutrals for eye shadows, I have recently bought a couple new palettes with brighter colours to play with. Thanks so much Jeann for taking the time to always stop by, read, and comment. It means so much! Happy weekend, dear. /Madison xx

  4. MAC actually has a huge presence in NYC but somehow I wouldn't be up on what's new with the brand if it wasn't for magazines or beauty bloggers like yourself. I can see why you love that palette. The neutrals in it look really pretty and wearable and the two brights look really fun eye poppers. Have fun playing with it my dear Jeann! Happy weekend to you! xo
