The Soloist Salon, should be a name that is familiar to you by now, if you had followed us for some time, as we have partnered with the team two months back to bring you not only information relating to hair, but also as our official hair partner for LUMINNEJ, part of our colourful journey to a more exciting hair do, you may have read it here and our FACES feature of one of its founders, Nicholas Chua here. [Review] M.A.C Star Trek Limited Edition | Shimmer With An Edge

In celebration of the fifty-year-long-standing sci-fi TV series, Star Trek, M.A.C released a whole line of makeup collection inspired by the strong female characters in the story. Personally, I do not know nor watched a single thing of Star Trek. The very few thing I know about the show are from our CalTech boys in The Big Bang Theory. Yeah, I am that kind of nerd. 

Despite my low affinity to Star Trek, it was pretty exciting to get a hold of some of the limited edition makeup for reviewing. What we got were the Trip The Light Fantastic Powder (Strange New Worlds), Lipglass (Set To Stun) and Kling-In-On Lipstick out of the entire themed line-up. Absolutely LOVE the colours!

Having watched Orlando the film way back in our university time, it left us with such vivid memory that it almost imprinted on us the definition of cinematic beauty, simply because we were mesmerised by its grandeur in costume design, the writings of Virginia Woolf and the reinterpretation of her work via the big screen cinematic language, spanning different period time, across the two opposing genders, a story that was told in such captivating manner that it almost left us breathless and speechless. Gripping all the way, we fondly remember. So, one could imagine our excitement when we discovered that our favourite British fashion brand, Burberry's upcoming September Collection show 2016 is partly inspired by this legendary writer's literary work, Orlando the novel and in the spirit of Nancy Lancaster's interior and garden designs, blending historical and artisanal details, and this crafted collection will also include a new equestrian-style runway bag, The Bridle Bag for men and women. Isn't it sounding awesome and exciting already?

A life filled with memories and stories like growing up struggling, financially, playing in a band, jamming with friends after school, drawing portraits and comics, behaving mischievously like skipping classes or getting into fights, then moving onto selling jeans, boots to earn a living, right down to taking up hair lessons and subsequently winning the coveted REDKEN IDOL competition in 2006 and now owning and running his own hair salon with another two founding partners, how would one categorise such a personality? 

An entrepreneur in the making? Or a man who has come full circle in life and is now learning to take his own stride, after much life experiences? Perhaps a bit of everything as the way we see it, it is such colours in his life that made him who he is today - a man who treasures the good times but will not forget the hard times from the past that made him stronger today. Yes, we are talking about our FACES personality, NICHOLAS CHUA, one of the founding partners and proud owner of The Soloist Salon, our official hair partner (in crime *_^), which we introduced previously here. Yes, we are talking about the lovely Korean brand, Mamonde, which we have come to discover recently during their media preview launch here and have fallen in love with, deeply. 

The Powerful Duo

Formulated with the Floral Biotics Technology, this newly formulated pair from Mamonde called the First Energy Essence and First Energy Serum have recently been upgraded with the antioxidant Lactobacillus that is extracted from the Honeysuckle flowers. The Lactobacillus is blended together with fermented 'Flower Vinegar' (which takes approximately one year to ferment and produce) to provide the skin with greater synergy and effect, and therefore enhancing the anti oxidative activities beneath the skin.
